Just wondering if the CW9 mags would work in the CM9. I was fondling the CM9 at the gunshop right after picking up the CW9. I thought for a minute it would be nice to have commonality of mags on a BUG. CW9 for primary with a CM9 for BUG.

I haven't even shot the CW yet, I'm still working on the prep and solving some pre-isssues the previous owner most likely had.

Here is a guide to Kahr magazines. The second section shows the 9mm mags.

To answer your question directly... Yes, any longer magazine will fit in the shorter gun. But some people have experienced feed issues possibly caused by the pinky pulling on the magazine and causing the top of it it to kant while feeding the next round. These feed issues usually occur on the PM/CM with extended mags (with taller baseplates that fill the gap). But here is a post from AC7880 where he is doing what you are asking without issues (possibly due to no baseplate for his pinky to pull on). Also read the posts after that.

My 2 spare mags for the CW9 are extended factory with the spacers

Should still fit the CM9 just fine.

Go back to the gun shop. Pull the CW9 mag out and stick it in the CM. If it fits, it most probably shoots! LOL

Just wondering if the CW9 mags would work in the CM9.

Answer is "absolute yes". And is exactly why I own CW+CM, also G26+G19 :D

Any operational issue will be related to built quality and consistency, and is not a design issue. So far I have not come across any issues with MY CM9 to use the CW mag (and also the 8 rounders)...

as for the Glocks: "what issue?"

I use a CW9 mag as a spare when I carry my CM9 and at the range. They work in mine like they were designed to. YMMV. tom.:D

I believe in carrying the largest capacity Kahr mag available as a spare/reload for more bullets when I really need them! I use the flushest fitting option in the pistol for maximum concealment... sometimes replacing the "flush-fitting" polymer base with a metal one... and adding an O-ring as necessary to prevent pinches... mainly on the "P"-size models... P40 for sure! and the P9.

I use a 7 and 8 round mag in my cm9. the 8 rounder is a backup mag for both my cm and cw9.
