After going back and forth on if I wanted to get the Kahr CM9 for over 7 months, I finally pulled the trigger;) on the gun. I was very pleased with the size of the gun, the trigger pull and I think it is a pretty darn good looking gun.
I was carrying a Ruger LCP and my Glock 19 was being a safe queen. I wanted something in the middle. I looked at all sorts of "pocket 9mm" and subcompact 9mm pistols. The Kahr was just the thing I was looking for, perfect size, good caliber and the trigger was just so frekin sweet. Afer debating on weather or not if I really need it, I went ahead and bought the gun last week.
As soon as I took it home, I field stripped it, cleaned everything squeaky clean and lubed it little bit more than I normally do. I found this link that tells you the 10 points of your gun to lube http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/a466/btowngeorge/KahrLubePoints.jpg
After that I just started racking the gun while watching TV or whenever I got a chance to do so. The action does smooth out eventually. After about 200-250 times racking(I lost count) I took it apart, cleaned it very thoroughly and lubed lightly.
Day 1 at the range: I took it out to the range for only 1 goal, put 200 rounds through the gun to break it in. I was expecting some sort of malfunction but the gun spat out 213 rounds flawlessly. I was very pleased at the reliability, accuracy, and how tame the recoil was. It was a lot easier to shoot than my Ruger LCP.
Day2 at the range: Today I bought 150 rounds of 115gr speer gold dot JHP. Took it to the range and started shooting lead. Not a single malfunction.

I am very pleased with this little pistol.

Congrats on your new CM9! I'm going to be breaking in my new K9 Elite in the next couple of days. Can't wait!

As you found out, following the advice on the sticky thread for prepping a new pistol pays off at the range. The pistol will only get better the more rounds you get through it. Fair warning: Kahrs are kinda addictive. Most folks on this forum own more than one. Don't fight it...just wasted energy. :)

I was up in the air a month ago on purchasing a new CM40. I read some horror stories on other forums and had never owned a Kahr pistol. However, I've found in the past that most times these guns, especially ones held to tight tolerances, are often shot a handful of times and then discarded as "junk". I found the same experience with 1911 pistols. I bought the CM40 and hand racked the slide a ton. I took it to the range and fired a mixture of Ultramax 180gr JHP and WWB 180Gr FMJ. I was just trying to get rounds down range. What I found was a most fantastic pistol that is accurate, light and cycled 100% from day one. I can't get over how well made these Kahr compacts are. Damn fine carry pieces. My CM40 goes everywhere with me when I'm off duty. EVERYWHERE

Another boring range report from a happy CM9 owner. (Said with tongue firmly implanted in cheek.) Welcome aboard. Where I go my CM9 goes, though I hardly notice. A great little gun.

I had some issues with mine in the first 100 rounds if I loaded 6+1, now it seems fine. 100 more rounds and I'll start carrying it!
