View Full Version : Looking for info on CM9 front sight swap

A search resulted in a couple of good finds. One thread showed pictures showing how to remove the front sight (tape the slide, snap the sight off and punch out the posts). The other mentioned that install of the front Trijicon sight was a breeze and showed pictures of the sight installed.

These were helpful.

What I would like to know is more about the Trijicon front sight. I am familiar with the ones on Glocks- the base of the screw on the ones I have requires a tiny closed-end wrench, not a screw driver. And the base of the sight also fits into a small machined-out slot that ensures a tight fit with no real play.

So the questions are- what type of screw is the bottom fixture, and how set is the placement of the posts in the two holes- is it tight, any play, any room for movement once it's in place?

If anyone could provide pictures that would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a pic for you, the fit is tight - no play.

The Philips head screw goes in the rear hole, and just a post only in the front hole. Loctite and instructions are included.

That's EXACTLY what I was looking for, Beardog- both the info and the excellent picture. Thanks!

Your welcome,

Just an FYI of other N.S. options....
I don't know if Kahr still sells only the front sight, they did when I got mine...But Dawson will sell you a front only that gets staked on.
Also,
XS recently released a Big dot set for the "C" series Kahrs. If it was available when I did my Kahrs I think that is the night sights I would have gone with. I have them on my G26 and really like them. Not cheap, but work great Day or night for fast, defensive, shooting.

It only took a couple of weeks to get, which isn't bad considering the current craziness.

These will go on my PM9 once I can pick it up. I may get some for my CW9 too. But I need to slow down a bit on the money spending. I am not quite as bad as Barth, but I have averaged about 1 gun a month for the past 4 months. Ouch! I gotta save up for ammo or these are going to be some expensive paperweights!

Hi guys,
I have a P45 I need Tritium sights front and rear. I've been looking everywhere but all I can find are Tritium front with white painted line for the rear. I want Tritium Front and rear.
Anyone know what model I need from XS Sights for the P45?

XS lists the following models for 9mm, .40 and .45 Kahr pistols with the new style slide (all 45ACP Kahrs have the new style slide).
KA-0002S-5 (Big Dot 24-7 Express, Front Tritium, Rear Tritium)
KA-0002S-6 (Standard Dot 24/7 Express, Front Tritium, Rear Tritium)
http://xssights.com/index.php?nID=sights&cID=Sights&pID=sights&sID=handgun
9mm, .40 and .45 CM and CW Kahrs would require gunsmithing for these particular sights models.
Regards,
Greg

A little more. I had to drimmel out the screw hole a little. Screw rubbed barrel.

I'll have to call because it won't add the front only to my cart and price comes out 0

Wow, front sight went from $30 to $50?!? Full set is still only $80, and definitely worth it. I have them on my CM40.
