Urg your state reps to start something like this!

I know some of you don't like following links, so here's the gist....

Invoking states rights under the 9th and 10th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution, Bright’s legislation – known as the ‘South Carolina Firearms Freedom Act’ – states:
“A personal firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition that is manufactured commercially or privately in South Carolina and that remains within the borders of South Carolina is not subject to federal law or federal regulation, including registration, under the authority of Congress to regulate interstate commerce.”

I think that Montana did something very similar. Sounds good to me. plus it has the potential to create local jobs.

Correct on Montana. They've done quite a few good things, like having higher speed limits contrary to federal rule. They were told they would lose some state funding and good ole Montana just said "whatever".

Might be a good destination when I escape Washington.

Can't you just see a new community where they don't need a sheriff or jails. Instead have a large sign on the road at each end stating:

********
WELCOME TO THE SAFEST TOWN IN AMERICA

ALL citizens are armed, trained how to use them and WILL use them if threatened by illegal actions of others. Visitors are required to register at the feed store and always wear the Visitor Permit.
****************

In the feed store a small sign that states: "Visitors are welcome to carry guns AFTER successfully completing a 1 day instruction class/shoot and prove competency with firearms."

I would add that common sense rules apply hence no lawyers, no civil suits by family of the deceased. No need for judges, just a jury of community members. All trials completed with in one week.

I agree. We're neighbors for goodness sake. I can't understand why we can't accept each others permits.
