My main carry firearm is my PM9. I love it. Slim and easy to conceal. However, I do miss having the punch of a .40. I have a Glock 27, but the slimness of PM9 has spoiled me.
How does the PM40 compare? I'm guessing it's a good bit slimmer than the Glock?

It is thinner. I just got an El Paso pocket holster for my PM40. The G27 stays in the fanny pack. I still like the Glock for capacity, just too bulky for pocket carry. The PM40 is pretty snappy but I like it.

I have the CW40, and love it. It's a little bigger, and I added the ported barrel that helps quite a bit with muzzle flip. I really like the gun, has not given me any problems, unlike the CW45 I sold. And it feeds from the 7 round mags just fine. I'm replacing the CW45 with the CM45 as soon as I can get one, and that will probably become my main carry piece. Right now I'm carrying my Boberg 9mm, which has been very reliable, despite it's complicated feeding system.

I considered the PM40 and settled on the PM9.
I just never found enough information to convince me the PM40 had the same the same great track record the PM9 has.
I decided to go with an XDs for a pocket with more punch. For tiny, I really like the PM9 with +P Carbon 115 gr hollow point. I have other loads, but I still need to test them before carrying them.

I own both and carry my PM 40 almost exclusively . I also occasionally carry a PPS walther in 40 . I shoot the PM as well as the Glock, now that I have had a few years to practice with it, and the only advantage I can see that the Glock has is 10 round capacity. I even thought about selling the Glock recently but decided to just keep it.

I have owned both the CM9, PM40 and G27. I pocket carried the CM9 nearly 24/7. The PM40 is the same size as the CM9 and I now pocket carry it 24/7 since giving the 9 to my wife.
The G27 is a great pistol but because of its width and increased weight due to being a double stack, I found it better suited for a holster which is not my preferred method of carry. When I holster carry, I like to carry a officer sized 1911 in 45.

Kahrs, Glocks, 9's, 40's....all good... each with its advantages and disadvantages. For that matter 380s are good too. And YES, the PM40 and PM9 are just about identical in size with both being a good bit smaller in every way than the G27. Best thing to do is to find one of each and compare what you currently carry to them...then decide. Better yet, shoot them all and then decide. You make like the feel, sights, weight, size, trigger, grip, etc... of one more than another. There are quite a few new models of subcompacts made by other manufacturers (Taurus, Ruger, S&W, etc...) that now compete with Kahr's and Glock's size that are worth taking a time to look at.
All that being said, I still love my PM40. It operates flawlessly and no one can argue against the confidence in that 40 punch you are looking for. But sometimes I like to carry the 380 instead, because of it's weight and size. It all depends on the season and what I am wearing.

of the40 kahrs. I don't ownone, andI think that some of the issues(excluding busted magazines, which now seesm to be much much better) of the 40 cal over the 9mm is the explosion of the 40 cal vs the 9mm. There is a difference as u well know
the size and weight are damn near the same, so I am gonna give some of theblameto the shooter behind the 40 cal to. They are for some not a fun gun to shoot and things happen IMO that the gun gets blamed for it . We don't hear to much about that stuff with the 9's. Both guns are identicalso whatis the difference??? BIG BANG VS LITTLE BANG. Just sayin

The 40 is not a pistol for poking holes in paper. It is a powerful round better suited for self defense. Many gun critics say the 40 is also better suited for more advanced shooters.

If the PM40 is intended for pocket carry then I can see it replacing the PM9. If for belt carry I personally would stay with the PM9 and G27.

I think I'm going to pick up a pm40. So they offer it with a factory laserguard installed?

You may end up like me. I got a G26 as a waist carry gun and a PM9 for pocket but I end up just carrying the PM9 in either either role because it's just more comfortable. My Glock don't get the carry time they deserve.

For IWB carry I prefer the PM9 over the G26. Then again I prefer the CZ82 over the G26 for IWB carry.
