View Full Version : 7 Round Mag-Is This Normal?

I just got a 7 round mag for my CM9, and it looks a bit unusual. It has an aluminum pin sticking out on the upper right side of the follower.

I had shot a friend's gun with a 7 round mag and it did not have this.

Is my mag defective, or has Kahr changed the design. I got the mag from Ivanhoe, so can return it , if necessary.

Thanks.

Upload your photos to your computer. I use a new folder for each day. When you connect your camera or phone to your computer, it probably has a folder for each day. You can copy the last folder and paste it into My Pictures on your computer. After you do this, you can double click on a photo to bring up a viewer or use right-click Open With and choose another program with edit features, if you desire. I use Microsoft Office 2010. You can edit with it. Sometimes cropping is nice.

To post when you want just use the advanced option Go Advanced and then underneath the text window you'll find Manage Attachments where you can choose to upload pictures. Use browse to find your photos on your computer and select one, then open. Then use the Upload button in the Manage Attachments window. It takes a few seconds, depending on the resolution that you used for the filename to appear. Then you can choose to preview your post and see how it appears before you Submit the post. I'm not sure if this is helpful enough. Someone else may jump in and help, too.

That pin operates the slide stop. Look from the top slide locked back. & insert an empty mag slowly. You will see the pin tuck under the slide stop.

That's a steel pin on the left side. He said there was an aluminum pin on the right side???

My mistake. With the mag facing the front it is on the left side, where it would catch the slide stop.

So, with that correction, do I assume it is OK?

Thank you. That is comforting.

That's why pictures can be helpful... right... left... from what orientation? Most references are from the pistol or components pointed in the direction that the pistol fires... and from a view looking down, unless referencing another orientation. It's like port, starboard, aft, forward, etc.

I was wondering if they had added a second pin to the other side to help orient the follower more toward the center of the feed ramp! :D

I just figured it had to be the pin that operates the slide stop because what could be on the other side & why don't the other Kahr's you were speaking of have it or aren't they Kahr's.

I must have around 70 Kahr mags and the followers ALL have the metal pins. I tried reducing some of those because they seemed to be dragging on the walls and lips of the magazine tubes. I had to buy all new followers for my .40 S&W mags.:( They may work in the 9mm tubes, but I haven't tried them.
