View Full Version : Fair Deal?
Have a chance to pick up an MK9 with night sights. Comes with two 6 round and two 7 round magazines as well as an unknown brand kydex holster (which I can't use since I'm left handed). Seller is second owner, manufacture date is unknown, seller claims a couple hundred rounds through it with no malfunctions but unknown round count by previous owner and rates condition as 98%. Photos posted but I have to drive an hour and a half to see and hold it. Price is $625 firm. Worth it if condition is as advertised?
New at BUDS for $657, with two mags.

Interesting. The one I saw displayed by Buds was $733.

Do you know if it is an Elite 2003 ? I am wondering why it is going to change hands for the 3rd time. Do you have more info?
Not an Elite. No further information.

Make him a lower offer.
Make him a lower offer.
I did. Price is firm. That's why I brought my question to the collective here.

I sold mine about 6 months ago. No night sights and only 2 mags, but only ended up getting $450 for it and not a ton of interest. If you shop around or are willing to wait for a deal I'm sure a much better deal could be had.

Thanks fellas. The information provided by Zamboni and the reverence I have for advice offered by His Eminence - Jocko are exactly, whether it be positive or negative toward the considered purchase, what I was looking for.

absolutely no relflection on the gun itself. Hell it might be the best of the best to. I anothers just feel u can do better and if I was gonna pay that price I think I would then start shopping for a new one with a 5 year warranty.warrantys mean alot, especialy if u have an issue. I will admit that back about 3+ years ago I paid $600 (way to much) for a used K9 NYPD trgger that was in excellent conditon, at that time there was not alot of used K9's floating around but when the NYPD guys starting selling theeir K9", we have seen this price in the $400 at times. Take ur time, like Zambopni stated, there are good deals out there if ur wlling to be paitient. Shop new if u can, course with this gun market the way it is, even single stacks might be har dto get. I just do not know that either. Mser, this is not ur first rodeo, so u know thedrill and u know the places to look also.

but if u buy throgh the mail, there could be postage fees involved and certainly FFL fees, and the paper work invlvedwith getting a FFL copy and money's etc. and then what if by chance itis not as totally advertised??? Then what...
The MK is a tank built gun but we have also seen more than we like some MK's with cracked mag wells. Now I have no doubt if the gun was evenout of warranty that kahr wold take care of that to but again, it is then ur issue to send it in on ur dime etc and hope when u get the new frame back that the gun works perfect. I am just being the devils advocate here, giving u some WHAT IF'S. Just sayin

I bought a new MK40 for $660.00 at a LGS. Included two mags. It had 0 round count and was pristine.

And it is greatly appreciated. Sometimes I get it into my head that I just have to hurry up and buy something before it's gone. You guys bring me back to my senses and remind me to "just be patient".
There are definitely times when you have to jump on something right away. Kind of a "you snooze, you lose" type of thing, but I don't think this is one of them.
