Can you believe the audacity of these people?
An amendment has been proposed in the House to repeal the 22nd Amendment limiting the Presidency to 2 terms.

Audacity, audacity, always audacity

You didn't see that one coming? I was surprised that didn't come up over 4 years ago.

President for life, no more elections.

As if Obama could win a third term. It is to laugh.

Don't laugh too hard Muggsy, he is wildly popular with many people. I notice though that there is a big backlash over the reduced take home pay many received last week.

I'm afraid he would win in a heartbeat. I'll reserve all other comment. I take that back, Jose' is an example of what we're facing and people better stand up and take notice.

Oh, but that is entirely the fault of the House Republicans because they don't know how to negotiate with (capitulate to) Obama. I am starting to think that the conclusion that the dumbed down voting populace will come to in 2016 is to oust them and elect a Democratic majority in the House. And they would surely like to find a way to keep their king in office. In a recent interview, Barbara Walters asked Michelle if SHE is going to run for President in 2016! :2eek:

It figures that this issue would pop up sooner or later. Progressives could not care less about the constitution unless they can twist it to their advantage. Could Obama win a third term? I think so. As more and more people become dependent on the government for a living either through entitlements or employment, he increases his base. If this proposal gets any traction (I doubt that it will), our constitutional government will be doomed. The "fundamental change" will be in full swing.

Let us not forget, not too many years ago when Kaliforians elected the "Terminator" to office there were those who wanted to remove the requirement to run for POTUS to be a natural born resident of the US.

This is not to be an intorduction to the "birthers", BTW.

You're right John, we certainly need a better class of voters.

It is mind blowing how badly most people want to be governed.

Historically it's been suggested by various congressmen a half dozen times at least. It would have to be passed by both houses of congress and then ratified by 2/3rds of the states. I might be wrong but I doubt it could happen.

He has proposed that same bill every 2 years since 1997, no matter who was president at the time. Even if the bill passed, the president would still have to be reelected every 4 years.

It's only going to get easier for Obummer to be president for life. He has already bought half the voters and in four more years, it will be a landslide... unless he runs out of other people's money too soon! All of the new regulations by EPA and so on will soon be causing the price of EVERYTHING to go up... and there are all of the ... SURPRISE... TAXES hidden in the Obamacare Law that will affect everyone, too!

I think it objectionable to pervert the use of the SAS motto! Maybe "Honi soit qui mal y pense" would be better when talking about guns... from the British Loyal Order of the Garter:

That's one of my "favorites"... Oh knee swa key molly ponce!:D I just love to say that!

You all do know that in order to be an amendment the bill must be proposed, pass both the House and Senate by a two-thirds majority, AND then be ratified by three-fourths majority of the states.

I would not bet that it could pass even the congress. What a waste of time...

That's only if they abide by the constitution and the rule book.

OR... our Great Leader (for Life) can just use his imagined power to issue an Edict. He's just too Elite and Intelligent to be constrained by the U.S. Constitution... and a timid Congress!

I get angrier every time I see that one A-H say "you don't need an assault rifle to shoot a duck"!

The Second Amendment was never about hunting or sporting use of firearms. It's about self-protection... and a so-called "assault weapon" might be very handy to defend yourself against BG's so armed... OR a tyrannical central government trying to confiscate your defensive firearms... JUST AS OUR FOREFATHERS ENVISIONED and TRIED TO PREVENT with the U.S. Constitution AND the Bill Of Rights! The CONSTITUTION was written to PROTECT the PEOPLE FROM the D@MN GOVERNMENT... not to limit the freedom of law-abiding citizens!
