I need some information, bought a new 1911 made by Para 4.25" barrel with a black finish. It has the name Kopis on the slide but I can't find anything on the Para we'd site about it. It looks like a good quality iron, I will try to post up some pics.
Anybody have any information???
Thanks:confused

I googled it and in Greek it roughly means "Sword".
Just curious, on the frame does it show where it was made? I heard a couple of years ago that Armscor was going to start making some of the Para's.

I will check, I think Pineville was all that was on the slide. I still need to post some pictures, it has VZ grips like the new Black ops, the very same grips.
I found the same info about the name coming from Greek (short sword).
I will get those pictures up.

As I understand, the Kopis are a small custom order by PARA. I think they listed at $1299 but have been bought for $800 on the street. Supposed to be a nice 1911 built in US. Give yourself a couple boxes of ammo for break-in. Let us know how u like it.

You are correct! I posted the questions over on 1911 and Travis (Para pro shooter) was able to give me the details. Looks like they may have made 75-100 pc. So far its been a fine 1911, shoots straight and no hangups. I did pay about $800 for it out the door, feel like a got a great deal overall.
Thanks for your input.:D

I was gonna ask if that was like that out of the box. Hadn't seen one with the mag well etc.
Thanks for mentioning that so I don't look incredibly stoopid for once.
I agree, it's a beautiful gun.

Now that I have the new Kopis, I would like to bust caps on about 200-300 rounds; but ammo has been so tight I feel like i need to replace every round I fire.....be glad when supply catches up a little. Must be good to be in the ammo gun biz. Most the shops around here has little if any inventory of guns to sell, one shop told they get in about 40 per day and sell most in 24 hr or less.:amflag:
