I was thinking a cw 45 covert mod would be the cats a**.I'm a poor loser that can't afford the gun or the mod,so who's gonna be the first? Any thoughts or comments?

Speaking as the original poor loser who can't afford the gun I think we should create a poor loser club. Wouldn't you kind of end up with a PM45 when you were done though. I can't afford that either so it would fit right in with the overall plan.
ok bye.

My CW40 is off to Bowie Tactical for a grip chop to a covert 5 round size so I can pocket carry...Hope I can hold on to the little beast when it gets back home...By the time I add up the cost of the mods: night sights, Mag-na-Port, and now the chop to covert grip size I will have spent much more than if I had just bought a PM9 which is what I wish I had done but oh well, too late now and it will be a cool but rather expensive pistol.....I always seem to find ways to spend more for something than I should have.....

Console yourself in that it's yours, your plan, built to what you wanted it to be. Your certainly not the first to do this sort of thing with gun, cars, houses, you name it. It's special, perhaps close to one of a kind. Hope it comes back everything you want it to be.
I'd tell you a story of an officer here who sent a 9mm Colt to Novak for upgrades. Long sad story, best saved for another time.
And let me be the first to offer you 300 cash money for it if you don't like it.
Just kiddin you know, that's what I do.

probably have a kahr and aholf invested in y custom PM9. If that is what you want to do, then go for it. bowie does super work, just slower than **** on a boar. He did me a Smith M & P that was awesome. took exaclty 6 months to get it back... He willdo you right though and down the road if u ever sell it the reference to Bowie tactical sure won't lower the value on it. I put a bunch in my Smith from him only to sell it later on and took a good hit on it but I knew that going into the sale. For some reason I shot my B19 which was tuned by accurate iron, ported with dawson fiber optic adjustable sight. That gun just shot better for me.. but that Smith M & P had a terrible trigger out of the box and after bowie got done with it was awesome.. I proably should have kept it now. Hindsight is always 20-20..:(

i have no problem being the vice president. less responsabilitys and i can drop "F" bombs on live tv. i thought that the barrel was longer on the cw45 but i havent checked the specs on kahrs site. i just thought since the cw45 has proven to be reliable it would be a cheaper alternative, even with the covert mod.(70 bucks plus shipping)

welcome to the world of expensive hobbies:D youll have a gun that looks sweet, and is one of a kind, with all the features you want. dont see how you could go wrong there, besides, just think of what you would have spent on the pm9 if you bought it and installed all of these mods. and if bawanna cant come up with the 300 ill give ya 325 and even pay for shipping:p

Dude, read again, I said original, not president. No way I'm signin up for no pulitzer prize position especially in todays lack of political climate. You can be pres, I'll be in charge of casting stones at the bad guys.
You'd have to crunch the numbers to compare your CW theory. Calculators cause me brain pain. Course if what you really want is a modified CW45, that's reason enough. Go for it. Include camera cost so we can all see some pictures.

I'll keep y'all in mind....Dang I didn't know it might take 6 months to get it back from Bowie...By that time I wont remember ever having owned the thing....It's he!! getting old...I will start to look for something, can't find it and then find it later but will have forgotten why I was looking for it in the first place....I think we need to start a getting old thread...Things like: Getting some action means you ate enough fiber today...An all nighter means you slept 8 hours without getting up to pee half a dozen times...Getting lucky means you remembered where you parked the car...You know things like that....Was I finished?....:D

Amen to that brother. Finished with what?
With regards to Bowie, remember (well do the best you can) squeaky wheel gets the grease. Keep the pressure on. Don't let them drop you thru the cracks. 6 months in purgatory, maybe it won't be so bad. Maybe you'll get lucky and find your Kahr?

Yeah, like >=60 years old. You 40 and 50-somethings aren't old! I don't even feel that old, maybe a young lad of 40.... If'n my dog hadn't died prematurely about 6 years ago, I'd still be in pretty good shape, but I sit here most of the day... it seems, at least... chatting with and trying to entertain you guys or shopping for stuff on the Internet. My wife knows about the guns, and I asked her about those... well, maybe not that PM9 I found, but she doesn't look at the CC bills, so she has no idea about how much I've spent on ammo and accessories while she's at work earning the money to keep us from having to sit on our hands for fun. Yeah, I feel like Andy Capp a lot, but I do the housekeeping, cooking, cleaning, yard work, etc., etc., and try to feed her gourmet meals and entertain her when she's not at work.
I post those Andy Capp cartoons and others that seem to depict me on the fridge... she really appreciates that.
There is a great deal of uncertainty now with all of my income and some of hers coming from the government... my VA Disability, our AF Retired Pay, and Social Security... plus next year I have to go from military healthcare to Medicare and I'm not sure how that's going to turn out. I would like to continue being treated by the military care facilities so I don't have to rub shoulders with all of the "poor" people and whatnot... maybe some of you guys!
The government's about to go broke and they'll start making cuts in everything and taxing what's left and whatever else they can find... as long as they have "enforcers" to run down the ones with "too much" and give it to their growing power base, too many of whom have been on government "assistance" since the 60's and LBJ's "Great Society" program to stamp out poverty. That has worked really well... broke up families... ran the husbands off and gave unwed mothers bonuses and such for each additional mouth for us to feed. Don't you just love "Social, Economic, and Ecological JUSTICE" when they forcibly take the money from the producers and give it to their non-productive, but voting and supportive consticiency -- forced re-distribution of wealth!
Oops... I'm not in the "Free" or General Discussion Section... just can't stop rambling.... I think it's relevant, though, 'cause sooner than later, there's not gonna be any more people with enough stuff to tax or be seized by force and given to the non-productive bunch as their new "Rights". We might have to use some of these things we're talking about to keep the have-nots from sharing our stuff... and soon!
Oh, well....
Wynn:D:behindsofa":banplease:
I'll go post some stuff in the General Discussion area... funny stuff.:D

ask him before shipping it. He told me up front it would be 6 months, course that was well over a year ago to. Maybe now less, Maybe now more. Cylinder and Slide, took me 7 months just to get my gun sent in to them. They took half my money up front and then told me it would be 7 months and they would contact me when to ship it. 7 months to the week leater they called and said ship it. Took 45 days to get it back from them. Had to sendmy PM9 back to them two more times because they put the damn back together wrong. Really pissed me off. Spent a grand to screw around with these people for damn near a year. Definitely the worst money I ever spent and alot of wasted money to. Glad I have the gun now and I do love it, but I would never do it again with C & S.
If you want the same stuff contact ACCURATE-IRON.COM.
he is not only alot less in price but alot faster and he is a master with kahrs. He has done some serious covert work on kahrs, He did my slide melt and grip stipplying on my PM9 and P380..

Thanks Jocko, I already sent it to Bowie and I really don't care how long it takes for him to do it as I still have my LCP....I just hope I didn't make a mistake getting it done but if I hate it theres always something else out there to trade for...I talked to Mike at Bowie and he seems to be a real nice guy...I asked him about how much shipping would be and he said just call him when I get the pistol back and he will tell me the amount and I could send him a check to cover it....Pretty nice of him IMO....

Tax time is coming soon and I already have in cash 1/3rd the cost of a CW45.
My father has a hacksaw, patience and overall superb craftsmanship. And I've got the desire to try and get a well balanced firearm.
Enough chattering: posted this over on my local (Indiana) gun owners' forum. Anybody? :)

P.S. - I modified some pictures of the CW45 in MS Paint to make the CW45 Covert LOOK like a reality.. I have not done it yet!
