From Ben Shapiro's interview with Piers Morgan:
MORGAN: Which tyranny are you fearing, yourself?
SHAPIRO: I fear the possibility of a tyranny rising in the country in the next 50 to 100 years. Let me tell you something, Piers. The fact that my grandparents and great-grandparents in Europe didn't fear that is why they're now ashes in Europe. This kind of leftist revisionist history where there's no fear of democracy going userpatious or tyrannical, is just that. It's fictitious.
I don't want my grandchildren telling people I'm ashes because I didn't fear my government enough.

Tinman - I have not read anything better than this throughout all of this BS. This is awesome and needs to go out to everyone in the US...somehow. It makes it clear. Thank you!

Actually our form of government is a constitutional representative republic which is a form of democracy. We elect representatives to serve us in Congress. Otherwise the article was spot on.
mugsy, thats redundant, as republic means its representative

Good to know I will be within my legal rights if/when the time comes.
Great read. I tried to copy and paste the article/blog but I ended up getting more than I want off to the right side. Any ideas as I really don't want to pass on a link in an email?

In the movie "The Day After" I got chills and choked up many times. The scene where the alert crews were running to the B52's was something I did many times... a few that I thought might be real! You just don't know until you decode the Emergency Action Message whether it's the real deal or not! the "pucker factor" can be pretty high!
When the central figure's car was shut down by EMP in that scene on the hiway out in the country... and all of the mushroom clouds were expanding in the distance... just after the Conelrad... or whatever non-drill, real emergency broadcast... that was really chilling!( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CONELRAD ) I trained and sat alert 24/7 for a week several times a month to respond to such a situation.
Now my biggest worry is an EMP attack where everything is gone in a flash and we're flung back to the Stone Ages... almost!! No electronics... no phones, electricity... and no post 1958 vehicles... BUMMER. The cops will be deaf, blind, and immobile! How long will it take the bad guys to figure that out and take advantage of the situation??
We always knew that should we have to launch in a real situation... everyone left behind would probably be soon victims to an ICBM or two... or three... targeting our base! That was very serious stuff.
Dang! What was the thread... I got carried away... close to a bottle of wine with dinner... the spaghetti I aborted last night... giving in to TV dinners!
