All but single shot firearms to be banned

It's gotten so wacky out there that a legislator in CT has proposed banning all semi-automatic weapons, and not just sales & purchases but possession too:


That the general statutes be amended to establish a class C felony offense, except for certain military and law enforcement personnel and certain gun clubs, for (1) any person or organization to purchase, sell, donate, transport, possess or use any gun except one made to fire a single round, (2) any person to fire a gun containing more than a single round, (3) any person or organization to receive from another state, territory or country a gun made to fire multiple rounds, or (4) any person or organization to purchase, sell, donate or possess a magazine or clip capable of holding more than one round.

Yeah I agree this particular bill won't become law but: a) it illustrates how shrill the other side has become, and b) if they start negotiating from that position it makes it easier (with the help of the media) to try to "compromise" on "reasonable gun control" in the so-called middle.

Note that some former NRA A-rated legislators at both the state and federal levels are starting to shift towards that squishy middle in some of their public comments. They need to be given a backbone by their constituents ...

I think if they are getting 'squishy' they are unreliable, and instead of a backbone, a boot would be more appropriate.

Scoundrel.. If you are referring to my post I had no intention of being racist and apologize to those who may have taken it that way. I will however delete it so that there will not be any more misconceptions. We've had several black members in the past who I thought highly of incidently. Kyletex from down Texas way was a great guy and I don't know why he left, certainly not for anything race related.

I conversed with him a lot both on and off the forum, helped get his Thompson fixed and made him some grips etc.

I think a descriptor in relation to Obama can't be construed upon a whole race. I wish Kyletex was here to render his opinion.

I don't think he would be offended in the least and I'd like to think that he'd have a closet full of descriptors that no white man would dream of using.

i won't refer to him as anything in the future, not that I have any regret or feel any remorse for calling him anything at all, I just don't want to think about him at all period.

Rather than cutting back on names good or bad I'd much rather see no more pictures of him, his family or any of his cabinet. Pictures are worth a thousand words and they are all very ugly.
