I was just examining my Kahr PM9, and discovered that the opening in the slide for the barrel is not round, but elongated. On my Kahr, the barrel is sitting at the very bottom of this opening, leaving an 1/8" gap at the top of the barrel. Is this normal?

I've linked a pic to illustrate...

Thanks,

Kent

Yes it's normal. The Browning barrel-lockup system has the barrel pivoting up and down at the rear during firing and there must be room for the barrel to move in the slide.

Normal. Lock the slide back and see where the barrel is in that hole. Oblong opening allows for the tilting barrel movement when the slide slides.

sorry wyntrout...I was typing when you posted. Didn't see your better response until I posted.

Faked me out when I first got my PM9. As did the "notch" & "bulge".
