I don't know if this has been discussed, but January 19th has been proclaimed gun appreciation day. Every gun owner is being asked to march on their State capital in protest of any new gun legislation. Those who join the protest are being asked to demonstrate peacefully, dress appropriately and behave respectfully. You are being urged carry signs such as I am a gun owner and I vote, or No restrictions on our 2A rights. Don't carry any signs that are vulgar or threatening. If you speak to the media be extremely careful of what you say. We want to present ourselves as respectable responsible gun owners and citizens.

I am def. going to my capital. I am thankful i live in a state that opposes isuues like "Agenda 21" , and that the Sheriff in my county feels every citizen has the right to be armed if he so chooses!

There's a rally in Harrisburg, PA at the State capitol on 01/23. My son and I plan on being there.
As far as 01/19, I'll be at my club shooting indoors or outdoors, depending on what's available.

Very good, Tinman. May your gun function flawlessly. May all you groups be small.

Despite the 28 degree weather, turnout at the Oregon State Capital exceeded organizers expectations. Well over 1,000 braved the very cold day to support our 2nd Amendment rights. I might add, a very organized & peaceful demonstration. :D
The local papers had virtually no coverage in this mornings editions.

We were in Lansing MI today with almost 1,500 other 2nd amendment folks. It was a great experience. It was enthusiastic and peaceful!
I saw some people filming but I did not recognize any major local stations.

Right on jocko. We were all instructed to be polite with any media types, and I never saw a one!
BTW, we riders are very PRO 2A, and there must have been over 50 bikes, but it was way TOOOOO cold for me to ride the Harley to the capital today. :D

I have to agree, it was a fantastic day all around. No sign of media types at all here in Salem either. Rats!
Glad you got to attend, sounds like yours was positive & peaceful as well! Great day! :D

I almost went to a gun show.
But I'm tapped out money wise and doubt there would be much I want at this point.
My FU Obummer AK74 is having the feed ramp enhanced to run HPs.
10 more 30 round mags and about 500 rounds of 5.56 NATO LE and hunting rounds will arrive shortly.
I'm really in good shape to appreciate my guns.
It's a good day.

I was hoping to see something on the local news this evening and...
nada.
We'll see what the paper brings tomorrow morning. I did have one lady ask me what time the rally started and before I could answer another customer answered. So, I'm hoping there was a good showing down here in LA.
The local media DID cover the gun show, though. From what I was told it was packed with a line of folks waiting to get in a quarter of a mile long. No, not before the show started, but through out the day! I was also told everything was WAY over priced, from guns to ammo to nachos.
Most folks that went to the gun show and many that saw the line ended up coming into the store. Out of everyone I talked with, one guy seemed to get a pretty good deal on a S&W M&P Shield in .40 for $425.
Went to Montgomery today, we had about 400 or so in attendance. fair i guess for such short notice. we had alot of good speakers and alot of patriotic supporters, the media done a good job of covering, in fact CBS website shows Montgomery, in the first photo on their website. Was a fun day, hope it is effective.

One of my daughters came along and we drove to Denver for the event. The turnout was pretty good and could not have asked for better weather for January in Colorado.
See they are estimating 1300 attended. I'd say that is about right, but there were folks coming in throughout the event, so maybe the count was a little higher in total. The speakers they had lined up were also patriotic and inspiring.
We had lots of supporting honks from folks as they drove by. There was a state patrol presence, but was very a calm event.
I personally did not see any media. They certainly could have been there, I just didn't see any around the area where we were located.

new media at a gun event??? u got to be kiddin. They probablly think you gun nuts will take their camera away and shove it up their ass, which is more than likely correct...

I went there. You know where everyone else was? The gun show on East blvd. There was a non stop line of cars going in and out, no parking spaces, and a line to get in across the front of the building and down the side. I've never seen the line that long and that was several hours after opening.

We weren't at this event, but my son sent this to me last night. Gun appreciation day at the Medina gun show was marred by an ND.

Happy to report the was an article in the paper this morning. Front page even! The story said about 400-500 people showed up and the second half of the story was about the gun show.

I went to the gun show here yesterday... just looked. I would have bought a Ruger 22/45 Lite with Threaded Barrel for $419+, but didn't want to wait for over an hour to be processed! I had Comcast service coming to the house... and again today 1-3PM.
I don't know if it has been posted but I'll check before posting "the Best Gun Ad Ever".

Oregon State Police estimate about 2,000 were in attendance. One Portland news channel covered the event that I know of, and the local paper had coverage on the front page of the 3rd section. Not exactly great, but at least it was covered. Good reports from both media sources. :D
