President Barack Obama endorsed controversial bans on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines on Monday,
as well as stricter background checks for gun buyers -
but conceded he may not win approval of all in a Congress reluctant to tighten restrictions.

BO is an idiot, a poser, and every time I see him on TV all I see is the hot air that is causing ALGORE's global warming.

"elevating gun trafficking to a felony charge"..... When is Eric Holder going to jail?

The Liberals in Washington would like it if we had no firearms then there would be no chance of resistance in 50-100 years and they could do whatever they wanted. They just want more control. Hey, even the "conservatives" would go along with it by then.

Everybody better wake up and realize that the debt crisis that we are facing is going to cause problems down the road and we better be able to stand up for ourselves.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist but I do believe that there are those in leadership in this country and around the world that know what's going on (what they don't talk about openly), and what is likely to happen. I also believe that there are meetings between leaders in this country and other leaders from around the world, not necessarily to figure out how to control the world as such, but try to come and up with what they want to do in advance in preparation for the inevitable.

I know that there is a minority on this forum that think everyone is just overreacting about our current leaders and what they are proposing but ponder this, there is one thing that makes this country different from every other country on this planet, our constitution and our bill of rights.

For reference here is a link:
http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/bill_of_rights_transcript.html

Look at in particular these 3
Amendment 1 - Freedom of religion, speech, press, and assembly
Amendment 2 - A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Amendment 4 - The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures

Look at history. There are many instances to use as an example. If things start to go to hell, and we have been restricted in Amendment 2, There is nothing to preserve amendment 1 and 4. And we will not be able to defend ourselves from the unprepared hoards or preserve our rights under amendments 1 and 4. We'll be "controlled"

People need to wake up and realize that we don't need to be sheep to the leaders of this country and the media. They want to control us now in preparation for the future. They all work for us.

Demand accountability of leaders, people, and firearms owners, and keep guns from nut jobs like these shooters, but restricting the ownership of firearms in any way by the responsible population is the first move to control the us because they know we are in trouble down the road.

So, who's going to be a sheep?

The anti's are not just going after "assault rifles". There are several shotguns that they want banned also. The Kel Tec KSG, and the UTAS to name two. Also they want to ban all imports of what they feel is an "assault weapon" from abroad. This includes the new SIG SMG.

The U.S. Constitution was crafted by our forefathers to PROTECT the RIGHTS of the PEOPLE... AND MAINLY, RESTRICT the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. There's nothing in the USC about hunting or sport shooting. The whole document was written to PRESERVE and PROTECT the RIGHTS of the PEOPLE... their God-Given Rights. It doesn't GRANT us those rights, but protects our rights from being usurped by a tyrannical government... as ours has long become! The main reason for establishing a government is for mutual self-protection... not to give up our basic rights to the government! Self defense is the most basic of human rights... the right to protect yourself, your family, and property.

Read The Law... short essay... about 70 pages(?): http://mises.org/books/thelaw.pdf

A part of the forward:

"FOREWORD
Anyone building a personal library of liberty must
include in it a copy of Frédéric Bastiat’s classic
essay, “The Law.” First published in 1850 by the
great French economist and journalist, it is as clear a statement
as has ever been made of the original American ideal
of government, as proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence,
that the main purpose of any government is the
protection of the lives, liberties, and property of its citizens."

There are several shotguns that they want banned also. The Kel Tec KSG

Sort of makes me wish I'd dropped the $1600 when it was still possible to pay way too much money and get a KSG in a week instead of waiting for them to maybe one day make enough supply to meet the demand, and get one for $800.

But, maybe that's for the best.

Yup, and everyone knows Joe bite me has no clue, even his own party, and he has no "personality" so he would get no where because he's not the chosen one. It would be for the best.
