New CM9 owner

Well after years of frustration trying to conceal and XD9 I finally broke down and bought a Kahr CM9 on Sunday!!! I was a little apprehensive about buying one as I read a few horror stories but I read so much good about them that I had to try it. I put 50 rounds through it today and was expecting FTF's, FTL's and FTE's but surprisingly it was flawless!! I know I'm not that good of a shot but I was really happy with my results given that this is the first compact semi automatic that I have ever shot. The target below shot at 30 foot away. I have to say I flipping love the trigger on this gun!!:biggrin1:

Yep, getting past those few horror stories is the biggest hurdle in finally deciding to buy your first Kahr. Made me a little apprehensive as well when I bought my CM9.

But the gun fit all the qualities I was looking for in a daily carry piece, and just like you I decided to trust the overwhelming good reviews. I love my CM9 and wouldn't trade it. It shoots great, as you have already found out and it will only get better with more rounds.

Great shooting on that plate and just enjoy your sweet new purchase.

Congrats on the new CM9, a great 'lil carry partner. My 24/7 carry weapon is my CM9, which replaced a Ruger LCP. I couldn't be happier. I know you're gonna love it! Like CJB said, the best compact carry 9mm out there. Enjoy! :D

Yeah that big green smiley is exactly how I felt!!!! From the first trigger pull at 20 foot away from the target I was pretty much dead center mass! I felt confident enough after the first mag through the gun that I backed up and shot from further off. It still blows me away that I was shooting all most as good with that compact as I shoot with a full size XD 9.

One of the things that originally had me concerned about small compacts was the struggle I have always had shooting double action revolvers. Well I am a converted person now, the trigger pull on this double action trigger is so smooth I start smiling just thinking about it. I am really wondering why I waited so long to take the plunge. I can already tell this gun is going to with me all the time especially with how easy and comfortable it is to conceal!

Welcome to the forum and Kahr family. I, like you, researched "pocket" .380s for several months before arriving at the Sig 238 and Kahr P380 on my short list. For several reasons, I chose the P380, and I am totally impressed. It's the first Kahr I've owned, and certainly won't be the last. CM9 is next.

Well I got about 200 rounds through it at this point and have only had one mag where the slide didn't lock back however I was shooting cheap garbage amo (Tula) just to see how the gun responded. On a positive note it never had a single hiccup even with 75 rounds of junk ammo. I am starting to get along pretty well however I was shooting a bit low towards the end of the session

Congratulations with your new Kahr. I too have just purchased the CM9 and absolutely love it. This little pistol is to me, the finest little 9 out there.

Congrats on your CM9... I was worried about recoil on the small 9 but one day as fate would have it.... after 194 rds of .45 out of my CW45 with my hand getting pretty raw a brand new CM9 appeared at the next station.... You can fire mine if I can fire yours...

In short my fear of recoil was quenched quickly. It is in comparison tiny and very accurate. And felt recoil is nothing compared to the .45. Yes muzzle climb is still serious but it isn't wanting to jump out of your hand at all.

It and 9mm ammo if I can find it are on my list.
