I forget where I saw the article but apparently in California some gun rights group has either made a deal with a machine shop or bought some cnc equipment and people are making their own billet AR receivers and building them in their shop. The reporter noted that the line to do so was pretty long considering. I believe that jig he has is intended to be used with a router but I can not swear to that.

You can even build your own NFA items BUT they have to be registered and you still get to pay the tax. Still tho for about $50 in materials one can have a decent silencer for a 22.

Somehow the guy doing the demo looked like he could be a terrorist. Kind of like looking at a film about how to make road-side bombs.

That is informative. The only problem I see is finding as source for the receiver blank and cut out jigs.
