Well I put off sending my slide in for the new night sights and now they are "temporarily" out. Anybody know how long before a new batch will be available?

Wow, I'm glad I sent mine in when I did. And hopefully the wait won't be too long. I guess the demand was much greater than the guys at KAI anticipated. It's worth the wait...

I just looked on the Dawson Precision site and they have a front and rear night site for the CW9. A little more money than the Kahr but they look a lot more substantial. You can also buy just the front sight that several people were looking for a while back.

a set of Dawson fiber optic front and rear adjustable sights on my Glockk 19 and I wkant to tell you that is the finest sight I have ever had. I would buy a Dawson any day and pay more for it to. Just top quality stuff

Didn't know he was doing anything for the CW series. That is a big score andone to remember to.

JFREY. I just looked over Dawson webb and unless I missed it, he just shows a rear night sight for $69.95.

He does sell the CW9 for $435 and with that sale includes free installation of any of his sights for that gun. (sights extra of course but no labor charge)..

This is not the same front site Kahr sold to me. The one Kahr sold did not have the flange around the bottom. It was just a straight blade with the insert.

Edit to add: The rear sight is also different. The ones Kahr sold me were blocky, not streamlined like these are:

I just wish the trit tubes were larger diameter...the DP tubes look to be the same as the Kahr factory tubes.....really tiny

Vincent, I like those sights. Who did you get them from?

Does anyone know if the same sights for a CW9 work on a CW40? I already have Kahr night sights but I really like that rear sight...Looks like a Novak

I would certainly think they would. dovetails are the same etc. Yes I like that sight also. Dawson makes great stuff.

Just called and talked to Kathy at DP and she asked me to shoot my pistol at 20 yds and call her back and let her know if it is shooting high, low or right on target. I have discussed with Jocko, my particular pistol shooting about 3 in. high at 10 yds with my loads. She told me they have a formula and several options to apparently get you the proper sight to fix any elevation problems. Seems like good info to know before you call. She also told me the sights are STEEL and they machine them in their shop. She said they are fairly easy to install. She said the front sight is staked on and they send you the instructions and tool to do it with. You can buy individual sights or both front and rear, your option. From the picture and talking to Kathy, it definately seems like a reasonable upgrade to the factory sights.

now that is what I call working with a customer to. They make some of the finest sights on the market. Just top quality. I was told whenI got my Dawson sights for my G19 that they make all of it in house and that rear fiber optic adjustable sight is awesome.

Do they also install their sights??? If u can get the kahr factory sights off your gun then it will be no big deal to install after market sights. Most usually come with a rear sight set screw for proper fitting. Something that I wished the gun cmpanies would do on their factory sights that come on the gun. Sure saves on brass punches..

to get back to the OP's question and mine :) Will the Dawson front sights fit a CW45?

Don't know for sure if the sights will fit the CW45 but call kathy and she can tell you real quick. My guess is that they will but check with her to be sure before you order.

I drifted my rear sight for a slight windage adjustment and I don't think it would be really hard to get off the factory sight. If I remember correctly, I read in another post that they actually come off left to right instead of right to left as Kahr suggested. There is some discussion about this in another thread about the new night sights from Kahr. Jocko should be able to enlighten us more on this feature.

Kahr lists just one sight, P/N: 034a, for the CW series and E9 in their parts list (actually they call it "unique to CW series/E9"):

I figure if the Dawson sight fits the CW9, then it will fit the rest of the CW series as well..

If you read more closely those are not mine. Those are the ones sold by Dawson Precision.

The factory Kahr front sight I got is a blade with out the flange around the bottom and the rear sight is not streamlined like the one in the picture. Both of those pictures are from the D.P. sight.

I exchanged emails with a service representative Friday, 4/2/10, and he said they should be having night sights for the CW series available on the Kahr website "in about two weeks".

Looks great, how hard is it to remove the stock i sights?

Vincent
04-13-2010, 11:38 PM
VERY easy to remove the front sight. Just break it off with pliers, sounds crude but it is how it is done.

Rear sight was a little harder but I pressed mine out using a machinist vice and a piece of key stock.....pretty easy. If you have a sight pusher it would be really easy.

I put XS big dots on a glock, was easy. The front sight uses a small screw from inside the frame, rear is in a beveled cut, held with 2 setscrews, then red stuff put around sight, dried in 2 hours. Is the Dawson similar for the CW9??

I'm really torn between XS or wait on Dawson. I'm a big fan of Dawson stuff, but I'm ready to drop the order.
