I noticed one of my guide rails on my P9 has a chip on it. The gun has performed flawlessy. Is this or will this be an issue? I am a new member so I can not post a pic.

Same thing happened to me today. Just noticed it while cleaning it after a day at the range. No issues at all firing today. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/01/18/pu8e6ate.jpg

Is this something Kahr need to look at?

Edit: mine is a PM9

It's there by design (http://www.kahr.com/faq.asp#q24) (used in the manufacturing process).
Welcome to the forums:)

Welcome to the forum!

It's a common question... the last in the F.A.Q.'s:

http://www.kahr.com/faq.asp

Q. There is a chip in the metal guide rail of my polymer pistol. Is this normal?

A. This is a witness mark for the polymer frame manufacturer and is present by design.

Check out the New Member Welcome/Info area... lots of info there.

It is known as "Authentication chip". If your Kahr does not have it, then it is a counterfeit. Report to Bama-gang so they can confiscate it. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I'm still waiting for the rail "dip" to go with the chip!

That chip was put their purposely to test your curiosity. It seems to have worked perfectly again. You are the 250,000th person to ask that question. :)

How about if somebody responds to this thread every day so it stays active? That way, nobody will embarrass themselves asking this question because they'll have read the thread. Oh...wait...those who don't read the thread will have no advantage over those who CAN'T read the thread.

Wait ...

1. does "sticky" mean "must read before one can continue"?

2. so what would you suggest the key word for the "chip" that a noob would do the search on.

****STICKY****STICKY****STICKY

You know that lil half moon thingie on your brand new gun's metal rail that you didn't notice when you first bought it and stripped to clean it, then noticed it after the first time at the range?

It's there for a reason.

Carry on

1. "Sticky" means either a short piece of wood that you use to stick something with OR just ignore the combined wisdom or idiocy of the people responding to a thread.

2. How about "chip" :001_tt2:

this chip is gonna be like Natalie Wood's case 30 years ago. IT AIN'T GONNA GO AWAY.

For the many here who have tried to make sticky's explaining all and for other great posts, besides kahrs own FAQ section. My adviceto all who have tried is to just save that LAST ROUNd in your kahr for YOURSELF.:israel:

cause u can't win this one..
