A Picture of the Cabela’s Purchase Receipt below disclosing the NEW OBAMA FEDERAL MEDICAL EXCISE TAX was taken by a real person friends know who made the purchase
The 2.3% Medical Excise Tax that began on January 1st is supposed to be “hidden” from the consumer, but it's been brought to the public’s attention by hunting and fishing store Cabela’s who have refused to hide it and are showing it as a separate line item tax on their receipts.

I do work in the Medical Device industry, so I know this tax is real. I don't, however, live near any Cabela's.:75:

According to the information in the link you provided, Cabelas does not sell medical devices and should not have applied the medical tax to these items. Company representatives said it was caused by a "glitch" in their software. See the last paragraph on the page you linked.

The implication was to offset the O-Care taxes. Does anyone who had shopped at Cabela's seen this on their receipt?
Glitch/smitch it's still charged to the person (s)

The tax (http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?p=214009&posted=1#post214009) is real. Congress voted for it two years ago. As CJB said, this is old news.

As the link you posted explained, it is not a consumer level tax. It is a tax to be imposed on manufacturers and importers of certain medical devices. Of course, we know that in the end, consumers pay for everything.

Cabelas acknowledged charging this tax, in error. The link you posted confirmed this. I'm not sure what more you want.
