They come in all sizes and flavors. Depends on what the backup gun needs to be, how big a hole you want to make, your budget, etc. Can't go wrong with any of them.

A MK9-Elite would make a good addition to the collection, and would also allow you to use the same magazines in both pistols.

Thank goodness on the B clarification. Welcome and we love helping people shop for new guns especially when we're in fund building mode and can't buy one our own selves. Tell us your thoughts and we'll have a 100 opinions in a matter of minutes. Good stuff here, smart people, lots of experience and then theres me.

IMHO, the sweetest shooting of all the Kahrs is the T9. Good looking and reliable too. What more could you ask for?

Are you sure you don't want a T40 with a fair amount of goodies included in the package  :D

Do you "love it" because it's little? Some of the bigger guns are much more of a challenge to conceal than you may be used to. You actually have to buy special clothing and often wear an extra size larger. You also need various holsters because not all pants fit right for IWB. You need belt loops big enough to accommodate a serious gun belt, etc. etc.

I'd like to add another Kahr..... I have a bad .45ACP bug too(no idea why? thought I was done buying guns )
So I was in a local shop last week and barely escaped with my life....they had a used but clean Kahr P45 in the case for $460

$460 and you walked away...You are a stronger man than I. I would have bought it just to keep my other P45 company.:der:

In reality the P45 and the P9 and very close in size. I have both and decided to carry the P45. The challenge was finding a good holster to hold the extra weight.

There was only one way I got out of that shop without the gun......I've had four Kahrs in my life, two I bought new and the other two used. The NIBs have both been flawless, the used ones, unfortunately, were two of the most problematic guns I have ever owned...made me develop a bad taste for used Kahrs

You confirmed my suspicion. I figured there was an issue of some sort there. New is always best unless of course your into all things old, then you gotta gamble once in awhile. Two problematic pigs would definitely make you look several times at used stuff.

Not so fast.....I may not be "completely right" ;)
Right next to that Kahr, they had an immaculate Glock 36(slim line .45ACP) for $430...I didn't leave with that one either.....???

Agreed, you need councilling. Ironically I'm torn as we speak between a PM45 and a G36. Even got a price from my PD supplier. If I'd had a means of $430 that G36 would have come home with me without doubt. Had one before, also had the double stack 30.
Perhaps as your first therapy session you should got out TODAY and buy a used gun. Just cause.
Go ahead now, report later with pics. We'll wait.

The lower priced Kahrs are inevitably without night sights, which to me need to be standard equipment. I just bought a used but immaculate PM40 with three mags and Novaks for $750 and believe that price was about right. At the same time, my T9T went for $600 with only one bid, keeping in mind that it would be $640 or so after FFL fee to pick it up. A dealer bought it, so that's not really retail.

As far as being "used", the PM40 slide racked as smooth as silk. The gun was simply broken in. Someone must have liked it, because the rear sight shows some holster wear, the black finish rubbed through just enough to notice.

The only problem I have is that it doesn't like to give up a loaded magazine, so unloading the darned thing is something I have to learn yet.

You must have stayed at Holiday Inn Express last night....!!

.....I knew I should have kicked that doctor's ass who was holding the electrodes....but I couldn't get out of the restraints...

I know I gotta be dumber than a box of muddy rocks but this Holiday Inn stuff is just going over my head. Mr. Jocko uses it often, several other mention it but I just don't get it.

Still waiting for pics and reports on you new gun TODAY! Day ain't nearly over yet. Don't waste it.

So here is the story in its entirety. I started looking for a .45ACP to carry hiking and in the wilderness...I only have my P9 and it is too nice and expensive to carry in the woods and 9mm imo is under powered for beasts.
When I was at the shop with the Glock and Kahr, I was luckily in "shop mode" Even though those were good deals, they were more than I wanted to spend and there were other guns I wanted to check out that this shop didn't have. I moved on to another shop, while going over some other prospects with the sales guy, he says he has something I might want to see, a rev that will fit the bill perfectly......The day before they got a Ruger SP101 .357mag. with a Hogue grip in...it has ~20 rounds use and I could have it out the door for $300 flat! I had to agree it was perfect for the woods...easy to carry, pleanty of power, tough as nails and inexpensive. I grabbed it.
Today I went out and got .357mag practice ammo, a carry load and a DeSantis Sabbard.... Threapy session over :D

That's understandable. I have bought all my Kahrs used except one.

P9 - Flawless
MK9 - Flawless
P45 - Went back to the motheship three times
CW9 - Flawless

My wife's P380 was bought brand new and it's been a great gun.

Now that the threads back on course I think you should have a steel counterpart to your poly. Maybe a MK9 or K9. Course everyone should have a 45 so maybe a big brother would be appropriate. PM45? Course then you'd be a Wyn copy cat but I'm sure he won't minde. Feel like maybe I'm just adding to the confusion. Ain't guns fun?
