What is the best way to remove/install a set of XS night sights? I tried drifting the sights out with a punch but they didnt budge:mad:. Any suggestions?

Remove the slide, use a padded vise and a brass punch.
Or, watch this:

Take care,

I've heard Kahr sights are very tight in the dovetails. I just sent my slide to Kahr for a sight install.

The rear sights on my K9s use a set screw, I had one fall off at the range. The front sights are just tight in the dovetail and drifted.

if u con't have a sight pusher, you won't get that sight out. Take it to a smity and let him do it but question whether he has a sight pusher also. If not wrap the slide up and send it to kahr and just pay themto do it right with outharm to the slide.
I have never experienced tighter sights than what are on kahrs. they just don't want to move and sometime not even with a pusher...

but I bet your rear site has been changed or something as kahr factory non adjustable sights to my knowledge don'thave a sert screw. I wish they allhad that set screw in them, so easy to adjust. WhenI bought my MMC adjustable rear sight for my K9 , it had the set screw and it works great.

Sure looks like the factory sights to me. The set screw I am referring to is in the top of the rear sight right in the notch. It is the same on both K9s that I have, can't recall about the CW and the wife has it with her. The XS big dot sights at the Kahr Shop appear to have two of them, the Novak sight does as well.

I thought I would go the do it yourself route last year with a new Sig P226R Blackwater 9mm to save a few dollars so I ordered a universal sight pusher and standard front NS to replace the red Blackwater NS. Long story short, in the process cracked the lower left portion of the slide and had to replace the whole works. Total additional cost: $450.00. My thought, let Khar do it.

it happens more than we think to, only difference is that u came forward and admitted it. Just not sure these sights need to be in that tight but certaily kahrs are. Seems most replacement sights have a set screw or two in them, where again most factory sights are just pressed in..

Did you just send the slide to Kahr with return info or did you fill out/receive a RMA?

I did the rear sight on my CW9 with a machinist vice and a piece of key stock that fit the slot. Worked for me. Pad the slide with leather.
