Kahr's website is the only place I've been able to find them. Still debating on whether to just bite the bullet and order a couple or wait till they come back in stock elsewhere cheaper.

I just ordered 2 from Kahr for my CM9. Kinda expensive at $40 bucks each but hey they had them. I wanted to order a fiber optic sight anyway. Make it worth your time and order something else like a new recoil spring or something. Jim

Not sure I want to do it but I have an option on a 7 round. I just keep reading about reliability problems on the larger magazines, especially the eights. I'm kind of a stickler on reliability. Break in periods are expected but consistent problems are unacceptable. This is my first Kahr so I'm new at this.

My seven round magazine has proven to be completely reliable.

Out of eight magazines, 7 6-rounders in my CM9 and PM9 have been perfect. The only one to fail was the 7-rounder that came with the PM9, and the jams were very serious and required a good amount of fight to clear- the jam was that bad.
I would not recommend the 7-rounders based on just this. I don't think it's worth it, I hate the way they look, and the added length defeats the purpose IMO.
If you don't want to wait I would go ahead and order them from Kahr while they're still in stock. People are paying crazy money for mags. Just yesterday I saw a 6-rounder go on ebay for 50 dollars. Granted it had a pearce extension, but 50 for one of these mags is crazy.

6 round mags may be pretty sparse. Obama is trying to limit us to one round mags, so a 6 round mag may be hard to find.

I bought two new 7-round mags for my cm9 and they arrive tomorrow. Going to try to pop in to the range to test them out. I've heard that the 7-round mags work just fine so we shall see!
Got them on Ebay and paid $69 for them plus $4-$5 for shipping. Cheaper than getting from Kahr and they have two more up right now for the same price. There is another auction for two of the same that has a day left and is up to $80 range already. I have seen one mag going in the high $40's to high $50's on Ebay so the price I paid wasn't so bad I suppose.
Here are the two for $69:

:biggrin1: I believe we were watching the same auction. I'm just glad we weren't bidding and running each others money up  I agree, it's bananas

Isn't it kind of goofy that there is a run on 6-round magazines when none of the gun-control measures proposed by Comrade Obama would affect 6-round magazines?
But if this hysteria continues, maybe when the going price for these mags gets up to about $100 each, I'll sell off three of them and put the money toward that new shotgun I've been thinking about.

If they get to be that much I will be getting a 686 of something in a revolver and be done with it. 3 Days to get my 6 rounders from Kahr. They came in a plastice bag together in no packaging. They saved money there. $40 each but worth it to me at this time. Jim

I was in another LGS yesterday and noticed he had a some magazines, so I picked up another 6 rounder in 9mm for $35. He also had 2 7 rounders hanging on the rack. I think they were also marked $35.

I just bought a CM9 a few days ago from my local LGS, and luckily they had one extra mag left which I promptly shelled out $40 for. I didn't want to pay that, but I had to have more then one mag, and I knew it wouldn't be easy to find one at this time.
There is no reason I can think of why single stack Kahr mags should cost this much or be that hard to find. They are SINGLE STACKS for crying out loud!

No thanks!

I agree, they are priced way too high. They are $40.00 on the Kahr site and I just couldn't do it. I was happy to find them for $26.00.

Yeah, when I bought mine back in November I picked up a spare from Midway to get "started"...then the madness hit. I've been focused on the potential future "unobtainium". Shoot the little 6 rounders even still legal in NY (although "hi capacity NY mags").

Broke down and bought a 6 rounder from Kahr last week. Walked into my LGS Saturday and he had a 7 rounder that looked new for $25. Came home with me. I greatly dislike the ugly, extended mags, but for the price, I couldn't leave it. It will only see range use anyway. I disassembled it when I got home and the spring was coated with what looked like the original packing grease. Cleaned and reassembled it. I haven't had the opportunity to test it yet.

Hoarders are doing a better job than Obama at gun control. This is not a direct response to your question but avoid rip off prices and buy them where reasonable. I saw Them at a store called Mills Fleet Farm for about 35 bucks. I bought one for my CW9.

I got lucky yesterday while in a relatively new LGS, as I saw an extended 7-round mag sitting on display for $12. After double checking the price, I made sure to pick it up. Looks like it has never been used but it was not in any packaging.
It will go nicely with my other 3 6-rounders. If it doesn't work flawlessly like my others, I may send it back to Kahr and exchange for a 6-rounder. :D

I buy a lot of magazines and the first thing that I do with the Kahr ones is take them apart and clean the tube of the grease and crud on the inside. I use 320-grit sandpaper to finely smooth the edges of the the followers... not the metal pin, though... and the bottoms of the sides and skirts. I also take the 320-grit and lightly check for burrs on the retention notch inside and out, and smooth the feed lips a smidgen. I want the follower to fall freely from the bottom to the top on re-assembly. I then put a few drops of Tetra oil on my fingers and rub it all over the spring before assembly. I usually have no problems except for the odd weak rack causing a feed ramp dive. A firm overhand rack without any drag on release will work every time, though... better than a slide release, usually!:D
It's essential that a free end of the spring be to the front under the follower for maximum lift... that's kind of "obvious" but can be overlooked.
I hold the magazine tube in my weak hand, rear against my palm and gather the spring into it with my thumb keeping it in place until I can slide the locking plate over the top of the spring, under my thumb. Then I compress the plate and spring enough to start the base plate on and seat that fully to the rear. Sometimes a rap to the palm of my hand is needed to get the locking plate nib into the hole in the base. I might put a tiny bit of oil on the outside of the tube and then wipe the whole magazine down with a rag to get most of the oil off. Excess oil will hold dirt and lint.
I do everything but the sanding on other magazines. The XD45 are just terrific to take apart and re-assemble. The 1911 ones really vary as many have welded bases and some are really difficult to take apart and re-assemble, but there's a knack to that and sometimes I have to use an awl, pin, or small screwdriver to hold the spring down during the process, but never with the Kahrs.
Wynn:)
