I just bought a Kahr CM9 off of GB. That transaction so far has been perfect, I will know more when I pick it up. The problem lies with my FFL guy. He is a stay at home dad that runs an online gun store out of his house. My pistol was delivered early this afternoon.
Not an email text or a call from him.. I have gave him tons of business over the last couple of years. The last couple of transactions have been this way waiting a longer than I think I should have to wait to pick up my firearms.
When I first started going to him he was like you can come over anytime you want to pick or drop off guns. I know he is not that busy since he has no other job. All the guns he sells he never see's them it is all done over the net or phone.
Maybe I'm being to harsh but you need to take GOOD care of your good paying customers, But hey that is just me... It is like he don't have time for me anymore. Just had to vent a little!!

I've left dealers like that behind myself. At first they are all do anything they can and you try to support them locally and use them when they don't have what you want. As they get established it's like they forget what a big deal it is for the receiving person.
They call and I'm usually there in 10 minutes and still wondering why it wasn't here yesterday.
Yes it upsets me. It isn't that tough to send me an email and say my gun is in.
My relatively new dealer here in town, I bent over backwards to support, sent lots of customers, officers and friends over to buy stuff.
Bought several myself from them. I process all the transfers that go through that are in town buyers. I've repeatedly added to the responses to send me an email that they check regularly since I'm deaf and can't call.
Figure I'd email my inquiries when I decide to go after something. NO response at all in a dozen request.
I'm done with them and went back to a home operation dealer whose daughter is now helping and loves me. She checks the email daily and gets responses back to me. See them each month at our gun show. So far it's working, just need to keep reminding him I'm a good customer who sends lots of other good customers.

I think his fokking with you but just nicely askhim why it took so long to get ahold of u. If he is the only game in town then u best kiss ass. If the he was a 21 year old baby doll then that might not just be a bad thing to do either. Just sayin
Wait ....
The gun is delivered THIS afternoon, and by 7pm you're pissed that the guy has not called you to say come right over and get it.
I think he deserves just a little bit of a break here. Just maybe he had some stuff to do. Just maybe he had some other transactions. Or, maybe he was seeing to someone elses order. Maybe he just didn't get to checking in - that is - to his bound books - your particular item, and the several other items he got today too.
My small time FFL told me today he's been averaging twenty guns a week since Election Day. In three years before that, he'd do only a few a week. And he does that all for 10 percent if he gets the gun for you (he shells out the money, you reimburse plus 10 percent), or $15 if you order it on his FFL. He's not making a killing, but he's paying the rent with ammo sales (he reloads all he sells, does training too).
Give the guy till tomorrow noon. Jeeze.

I got a tad unhappy with one of my favorite gun stores 2 days ago. After a couple unhappy phone calls & emails didn't smooth things over, yesterday I got an edgy email from the owner whom I've done all my business until this transaction. He apologized and said he had been at the Gun Show thing all week and had others fill in for him. With a slap to my forehead I immediately emailed an apology and then we squared it all away. Things to do with guns go a little crazy during show time.

I get a delivery notice and know when my orders come in. My LGS disassembles cleans and inspects every gun he receives before notifying his customers that the guns are in. That service is included with the $25 transfer fee. I don't yell at him for the delay. I thank him.

Mine are instructed not to touch the weapon until I am present. They open the box to acquire and confirm the serial number but are not to work the action, install a bolt or pull the trigger.
They are welcome to do that when I arrive. I see to many instances where some poor smuck gets a gun in and it gets passed around everybody hanging around in the shop.
I like my hard earned purchases untouched if at all possible.

Stay at home Dad you say? Sick kid, overwhelmed? I'd say you need to take a deep breath and think for a minute, since you have had good service before.

Well I just got home from getting my new Kahr. Still no contact with him until 5pm today my local time. I shot him an email he replied right back and said he forgot to call me.. He did not charge me his $20 fee. So it is all good..
FOR THE RECORD I WAS NOT PISSED!! just a little upset with the way my last few transactions have went. We talked about it and we are good now:Amflag2:

Hey it's ok to be pissed. It's better to be pissed and talk about it and everything is ok. Like you said he admitted he forgot. That is not good for a man awaiting the arrival of his new toy.
It's like the baby doctor not showing up cause he forgot only more important.
Quality customer service seems to be in a rapid spiral downward circle and we need to not let anyone get away with shoddy. Don't need to nit pick and expect the moon but good service is job 1.

I've always felt that it's better to be pissed off than pissed on.

I prefer they do not open the package until I am there. I'm afraid of getting the wrong item like a G30 instead of a G30 SF. That happen to anybody and if so how did you handle it?
