A good outcome, but I wonder what the mayor would have done, had there been enough votes against the citizen... and against the 2nd Amendment the council members swore to defend.

Somewhere (here maybe or over on P250SIG.com) I saw the text of the conversation (or summary) and basically the mayor was asked in the meeting what if the vote had gone the other way and he said that state law would have prevented the LEO in the room from being able to enforce the vote.

I guess whether they would have tried and gone thru w/ tossing him out and dealt with the follow-on lawsuit or complaint is another story, but according to the mayor, state law said he could (or rather didn't prevent him) carry concealed in the meeting.

The high and mighty....

When they don't get their way, they leave.

I wish the mayor could have this conversation with a certain Vice President of the United States.

The guy that left probably had to go change his shorts. I'd guess he was guilty of something and felt extra paranoid.

Here in Florida we can't CC in a government meeting like that.

Same in CT. No CC in government buildings. Mayor did a great job thought in this instance.

I also commend the other council members that shot the motion down (pun intended)
