The Kahr I have been asking q`s about is a pre-owned pm9. I guess I am just plain inept, but I have not been able to find year made or any selected info on it..Does anyone want to share how to age this weapon The serial # is ..Can`t tell first letter from a 1 or an I.. ?D44xx will list last digits if necessary...Thanks...

It should be an I. Was there a little envelope behind the manual in the box... fired cartridge with date tested? My PM9 had that, but it depends on where the pistol was going and state requirements.
Here's the link for serial numbers that MIGHT be helpful:

Everyone doesn't say, but the date doesn't mean the actual date it was manufactured... necessarily. The date purchased, the date for the "fired cartridge" FC test, or if purchased new....

I took it down and I guess all is well,,,,Are the little metal slide pads rearward of the frame supposed to be flush or sticking up some..? These may be up a wee bit,,rifles look deep and clean,,,so maybe I done good as old man never said...LOL...Thanks...Jay Thanks men,,,much appreciated...

Yeah, I just bought a kahr pm9 new about a month ago. It's ID02**. From what I can tell it's about a year and a half old, but was new when I bought it. So yours is technically younger than mine, but mine has only been fired 150 times or so, but the one you are buying could have been fired 10,000. Moral of this story is that when buying a used gun, the serial numbers can't always tell you that much.

I understand what is being said,,,And at the end of the day, I am happy with my new to me Kahr. It seems to have passed all the test,,thanks to all my new Karh pards for all the help..This is the first pre-owned pistol that I have bought in many a moon. I would still buy a new one, maybe in a different caliber,,,If it could be found.....With lots of suggestions ...Hint..Hint...Thanks...Jay
