Anyone taken the NRA Defensive Pistol Course?

Curious what you thought of it. I have never taken formal training (other than my time in the Army as a Cav Scout).

Looking to get some training near Northern Indiana, and this is only about 90 min away.

Anyone know of other training near Norther Indiana they would recommend?

Yes, I have taken this NRA course.

The NRA training materials and curriculum are basic, but well done. In the end, the quality of your learning experience depends on the instructor. Some are outstanding. Others are good guys, but they just are not effective teachers. Hopefully you get a good one.


I've enjoyed all the training classes/courses I've taken. NRA has some good programs. Check out the Personal Protection In The Home, and Outside The Home series.

I would not be surprised if we have some instructors on this forum. They can give you more insight on the training program.
