View Full Version : Store Ammo Fight
I have never seen anything so crazy in all my life. I road with the wife tonight to wal-mart to pick up a few things food. Well anyways i thought i would go check the fishing and hunting stuff out just for the hell of it like i always do. There was a customer raising hell with a store employee saying man your store has not had any ammo is two months now. The employee said sir we are getting it but as soon as we do it is all gone. Well anyways i seen the guy walking around looked pretty pissed what i could tell anyways he was coming back then another guy walked up to the store employee also and i saw and so did the first guy who was pissed the store employee reach under the counter and gave this other guy 5 box of ammo. The first guy seen it to and all hell broke lose he was yelling saying man what the hell is that if your store cant order ammo and when you do have it we can have only 2 box why did you just give that guy 5 box of ammo. I mean this guy was so pissed was breaking **** and throwing it at the store employee right there in wal-mart. I mean this guy went completely crazy when he seen that employee give that other guy 5 box of ammo instead of 2 box of ammo that was under the desk not inside the glass case. Someone called the police and they were running toward the hunting section of the store i told the wife lets go we ain't getting in the middle of this ****. I just wanted to share. I have never seen something like this over ammo. I mean this guy was in the process of whooping this employee's ass over ammo.

Heard it will calm down in Mid to Late Feb IF the Panic buying stops!
We collectively are causing this....
Reloading was MY salvation/solution. I do not intend to buy finished product again.

Sounds like just the type of person who shouldn't own a gun. Can you say anger management issues? If I was the clerk I would have shot him. :)

I bet the first guy was a hoarder and has caused problems at the store before by buying all the ammo on the shelf every time he came into the store. Then he was probably re-selling it out to some of his brouthers.

Academy in my town is fully stocked, but has a one box limit per caliber to slow down this mess.
THIS is why you stock up before crap like this happens. That's for ammo and firearms.

I might add a few things to that list, but that's the right track.;)

I'm sure most walleyworld employees can be bought, or would at least consider it, afterall they work minimum wage jobs.
I have witnessed these employees enjoying what could be the only "power" over any situation they've ever had.
With most restocking happening at night and every sporting goods employee knowing what's coming in and when, the chance of just walking in and finding ammo is pretty slim.
In most stores it goes UNDER the counter to be doled out to the chosen few, with the "walk ins" seeing the empty shelves, and don't even ask.

My thoughts too. The idiot apparently is unstable.
He just made himself a criminal.

The 2nd guy was probably one of the employee's pals. I can understand why the first customer was upset but he should have went too management instead of going ape chit. It doesn't surprise me though. You can see the same thing every year during the Black Friday sales. People just go bonkers over a few dollars.

If they catch u doin that at our local wal mart, YOUR FIRED. My wife has worked at the local wmt for 27 years and knows um all perfectly they all in the sporting goods dept tell her the same thing. We stock um at 7 AM IN THE MORNING, First come first served, limit 3 boxes. My wife annot even buy the ammo for me unless she actully checks out on the time clock and then and only then can she buy any ammo if there is any. Might be some wmt's that can get away with it, and personally if I thought one of the gals in wmt would rat hole some 9mm back for ol jocko, well my honor would probably go as far as most others with the ammo thing.
I don't panic over it aqnd I have always keep 2K 9mm on hand . so I ain't hoardin anymore.
Tilos, my wife has worked at this wmt since the day it openes 27 years ago and is not management and makes 19K per hour and a wmt funded 40l worth today over 90K. equate that 90K into 27 years comes to about $3300 per year on top of here 19K, . I would say she makes pretty good money, and her medical insurance for her andI isw $54 every two weeks and she gets 4 weeks vacatioon plus a weeks extra pay for her birthday for time served with wmt. I am not a cheer leader for them anymore than any other business but most people do not get the facts, but just repeat what they hear.. Just sayin

Jocko:
That's great to know and I'm guessing she's full time to get benefits, not my experience though.
The Richard Cranium I experienced WAS the manager of the sporting goods dept, and I would stop at 2 different stores after work, sometimes at 2-3 in the morning.
I know I had no life then, but it's what I experienced, and how hard would it to be for an employee to find a quiet place to call/text "a friend" about ammo on the shelf or under the counter.
With all those late night WM runs, I did get to know the guy(s) in sporting goods:) but never tried to buy more than the limit, it was always UNDER the counter, and I had to ask for it.
They (and we) have delt with this before, and even with limiting amounts the horders will still find a way to clear the stuff out.
I was working 2600 miles from my reloading stuff during the last "shortage", and had to fly home (twice) to transport guns to have something to shoot because I could not buy guns in Oregon, as I was not a resident.
By shopping late at night (actually early morning) and mid-morning I was able to buy enough center fire and 22LR ammo to shoot, for me the 1st center fire ammo I had bought in 20 years!

post kinda stated that to. It ain't always fair,u know that. My iside source at walmart in sproting goods will callme if they get any in the day before to let me know it willbeout on the shelves in the morning at 7 aom. but limit 3 box is allshe can give me.
U know, just buy a bunc of cars from the same dealer in ur area and see if u don';t get priority over the normal john doe who just stoppedin. This is life in the real world. I think wmt trys tobe fair in their ammo sales but employees know the system good to. Somecold give a rats ass about anything and some likle my source trys to help ol jocko within the rules. I sure wouldnot want some one to loose their job over a few boxes of ratholed ammo for me or any person.
yes she is full ime and full time gets one benefits. This store is 27 years old and they have close to 80 employees and over 30 of them are 25 year employees. To me kinda speaks well of the employees and the store in general..:Amflag2:

If he winds up with a felony conviction for assault he won't need the ammo since he won't legally be able to own a gun. Problem solved!

I remember a video at Wal-mart during Black Friday where these "people" were going absolutely ballistic fighting each other over some $2 toasters. If this is how people behave over a $2 toaster and ammo now, how do you think they will act during a REAL crisis?
These are the reasons why I started arming myself. You got to assume that anyone going totally berserk in a store over not being able to get ammo may very well be armed and dangerous.

Maybe the store empolyee already knew the guys unstable, and just refused to be the one to sell him ammo. Now if convicted he won't have any guns do to his actions. Dumb move on his part. However the last thing responsible gun owners need is a loose cannon walking around with a gun.
