I've been told both ways, but can I safely shoot +p and/or +p+ ammo in my PM45 and/or my PM9?

Kahr says "The Kahr pistol is rated to +P". From FAQ's #4.

Kahr Arms / Q & A (http://www.kahr.com/OR-4.html#q4)

I shoot 9mm +P Speer GDHP 124-gr and Double Tap GDHP 124-gr +P for defense in my 9mm Kahrs(k9 + PM9) and standard 230 bonded Rem GS in the PM45. I think +P is getting excessive in the PM45. The Rem GS is rated well, but penetration wasn't as good as some others. The bonded version fixes that.
Wynn:)

I'm receiving the bonded GS today and hope to get to the range today for testing that and Rem UPC 230-gr FMJ.

The bonded version (for LE) is GSB45APB vs. regular GS45APB, and is available at

$34.45 a box of 50. Four boxes cost me $150.86 shipped.
The regular can cost that much or more for the 25 round box.

You're welcome. I updated the last post a bit. MAH was selling Winchester Ranger Talon to anyone until a few days ago when I checked. I wanted the non-+P version, 230-gr and he was out.At the gund show this weekend I saw all of that being sokd for about $35 a box! I'm already committed to the Remington, though. I presently only have the regular 230-gr GS for the .45's. I'm switching to the bonded version which is ballistically the same.

+1 Mr Wyn, If a standard 230 grain .45 cal HP doesn't do the trick, you should have brought along some heavily armed friends...:D

And that's why my PM9 is a stepchild now. The .45 only weighs about 4 ounces more and fits the same holsters!
I just ordered some .380 ACP from Sportsman's Guide:

Free shipping and two anytime $10 coupons coming. Nobody has any FMJ that I want and this will be a good deal under these terms... renewing my membership.

Now I have Remington UPC FMJ for 9mm, .45ACP and .380ACP on order... still no P380, though.

I want to go to the range and test .45ACP today... waiting on UPS with my wayward package of Rem. bonded GS 230-gr.
I'll try to get flash comparisons and do a report... probably just the PM45. Did I say PM9 is a stepchild? It's still nice to have lying around somewhere at hand.
The PM45 is my chair and CCW EDC now. I keep the 6-round in it at the chair and when I go out, I use the 6-rounder as a spare and put a 5-rounder in the gun -- 5+1, of course. I have the other 5-rounder and one 7-rounder for spares or the range.
Wynn:D Ammo just arrived... Pix under ammo subforum. ~2PM

I'll adopt the PM9 if you don't love it no mo. Not sure what I'd do with it but fondle and care for it, let it know that it's loved so it doesn't get on of them inferiority complexes from being left behind in a dark safe all the time. I'd even consider splitting the shipping cost. Course I'd rather have the 45 but now probably isn't a good time to be courting that idea. Your still bonding.

ok bye.

I don't think any manufacturer will rate their handguns for +P+. The issue being that there is no +P+ standard....it simply puts you on notice that you're out in unregulated, high pressure territory.
