I find that when I can't afford new guns my method of appeasing myself is to look at knives. The last couple years I've been smitten with the Kukhri bug.
Thanks a lot Greg, I owe you.

Anyhow here's my newest version. A Trisuli Ghaule. Very interesting history and how these things are made. I find myself visiting Himalayan Imports just to look at them frequently.

A tactical assault knife if I ever saw one. Oh Dianne....... :behindsofa:
It really does look mean but very cool also. Love the craftsmanship, but could do without the blood at the front of the big one.

Those will leave a mark!! Nice pickups, uncle B. My miserly self is looking at Kuhkris as well. Nasty addition to the continuum of force. Am I seeing right from the first picture that there are at least two knives in the sheath? Someone carry a BUK?:blushing: You got room for these among all the things you hoard as you go about your day? :Amflag2:

Bad *** looking knives. I am a knife freak. There, I said it.

I am going out on a limb here but a guy that has moderate skills with a knife can deploy it and disable a guy with his gun in a ccw situation most days. IOWs knife wins.

I like the bottle opener near the hilt. An early version of a Swiss Army knife. :)

No Muggsy, that is a reference to Shiva's trident.
I must confess though, I too have an affinity for sharp objects. Ask my wife how sharp I like them, just plug your ears when you do.

The blood at the tip is actually I believe walnut stain, I just checked myself for wounds and I'm ok so it must be so.

Most real Kukhris come with those two little knives. A Karda and a Chakma? I can't remember the terminology. One is a small utility knife and the other is like a steel to clean the blade after chopping brush or flesh I guess.

The little bottle opener is called a Cho and has religious significance. Some say it represents a drop of blood, some say a cows hoof, others I can't recall.

In close encounters the knife can and often times does win but never when the wielder is in a wheelchair, at least a manually powered one, maybe a power chair with turbo boost would increase the odds.

Meh that's a little better. You seem to have the pistol angle covered. Now to get you into some long guns too.:wof:

The correct spelling of the knife is Khukuri and the notch at the base of the blade you guys are referring to is the "cho". The cho is designed to allow blood/ liquids drip off so it wont run onto the handle .

I just can't believe you made that statement. Didn't you know that Barth is the founding member of the barrel and gun of the month club buyer? Last thing we need is to get him going :)

Bawanna

Actually there are several spellings for khukuri. Your spelling is the one I usually try to use although I always screw it up or forget.

I'd not read about letting blood run off prior to the handle as one of the reasons for the cho. There is a list of possible reasons but I didn't see that one. Could be so.

I'm not a knife person, but I gotta think you do not appendix carry something like that for concealment. Which begs the question, how would one carry something like that concealed? And does one need a permit /jk?!

I only use it when I wear my Long John Silver's Pirate Hat. Don't have an eyepatch. I do have a hay hook I can stick out my sleeve so I can play Captain Hook.

The real reason I have that: my ex wife was a belly dancer, and they made me a Sheik costume to wear so I could announce the dancers when they performed at the Reneisience Fair.. That small scimitar was part of the costume, but it is a very effective knife, holds and edge well, and sure makes Jehovah's Witnesses and door to door salesmen uncomfortable. :D

LOL, that's a better story than the Long John Silver's Pirate Hat!:)

I thought he was gonna say Long John Silvers pajama's. I was duly impressed with the hat, but I agree, this last story is the best and I'd stick with that one.

Hey Bawanna, you need to wear that to work and see what they say since they don't like firearms anymore. Stir the pot a little you know....

Disclaimer: My boss told my co-worker not to always listen to me. The boss told her to choose a day to attend a meeting and my advice was to tell the boss that she was choosing not to participate due to a lack of interest.

I don't carry that blade concealed.
But I could if I so desired.
And yes you need a permit.
Florida is somewhat unique in that the concealed permit here is a weapon or firearm license.
Any weapon I can legally own and conceal - I can carry.

I live in a free zone.

O yeah, that's all uncle B needs now. To stir the pot a little. Good advice yqtszhj. Remember what auntie B said. The man cave becomes a knitting room the day you stir the pot too much! Sawdust gets replaced with yarn. 'nuff said.

Not very pleasant.
Most of my stuff is in the states.

Only citizens of Costa Rica and Permanent Residents with valid permanent residency status are allowed to own, register or carry weapons in Costa Rica.
If you have a Temporary Residency category you will be restricted.

I've come back to the states.
Florida is nice in the winter.

Actually that's exactly my plan. Figure if I wear these they'll reach a point of reason and compromise. Ok you can wear you gun on your hip like a man but please leave the swords at home. Mission accomplished.

Chief was watching when I took it out of the package. We're not suppose to have mail delivered to the PD, my bad. He asked what I intended to do with it and I said whatever I want. Then added that I'd like to see it adopted as part of the patrol uniform. You know safety, cutting seat belts, chopping roofs off cars with trapped occupants. Intimidating the neer to wells.

I wear a small fixed blade on my left side, (my get off me knife) for if someone tries to grab my gun on the strong side. Chief asked me once if I was left handed so I told him the plan for when I'm wearing my gun as I should be right this minute. He just don't get it and the deputy chief ain't even as bright.

Badazz blades used by some of the most badazz mofos on this planet...the Gurkhas.

I recall during the Falklands War 30 years ago when it got out that the Brits had sent a detachment of those little killing machines down there, Argentine newspapers started cryin' "No fair!". :D
