February 23, is going to be a national day of pro 2nd Amendment protrests around the counrty. They picked 2/23, because of the .223 round that most rifles they are seeking to ban fires.
I don't have much info yet, just heard about it this morning, but consevative sites should start announcing details as they become available.

Who decided on this date? What happened to national gun appreciation day? How many of these are we going to have?
This is heart of the problem - no centralized, organized effort. The NRA wants to be the spearhead for such an effort, but they can't get past their greed to make themselves universally respected among gun owners.

I heard 2/23 from The Western Representation PAC. Not sure if who else is one board. Might be one of those things that doesn't go over very well, if they don't get some gun groups behind it.

Now the Tea Party is going to participate in the 2/23 protest.

Nothing quite reinforces the "what a bunch of extremist loonies" image than having the tea party endorse it.
Is Westboro Baptist Church going to get involved as well?

All of the TEA party people that I know are rock solid conservatives who support the second amendment. You should try to figure out who your friends are and support them, Scoundrel.

Well, I know this point of view isn't popular here, but guns, and everything to do with guns, is not my only interest in life or politics.
Watching a TV commercial where a politician whips out a rifle and fires off a few rounds isn't enough to earn my check in the box on the ballot.
And do you guys seriously think Sarah Palin would made a good president?

Scoundrel, you obviously don't know anything about the Tea Party except what Mainstream Media would have you believe. I'd damn sure rather have Ms. Palin than what we have now in the white house.
She may not have a Harvard education, but she has common sense.
Tea Partiers are just a group of down to earth conservative people that want to revive the constitutional way of running government, and lower taxes. That is pretty insulting to compare them to the Westboro Church of Hate.

And unlike obummer, Palin loves this country!

And she can see Russia from her house.
Yes, I'd take her if it was a choice between her and the current resident. Without a moments hesitation.
Edit to add- I'd really like to see her husband as president, he's a get r dun kind of guy.

If Feb. 23 doesn't work, there will be another protest on May 56th, and another on July 62nd.

She was a good and popular governor in Alaska and had years of success in politics. Compared to someone who's entire work experience consisted of being a Marxist community organizer, teaching the Alinsky Method to other radical subversives for 3 years, and then voting present as a senator for a brief period while plotting his capture of the presidency so he could fulfill the anti-imperialist dreams of his father? Think Barack Obama works as president?

I think that Sarah Palin would make a better president than the POS that currently occupies the White House. What in the hell does that have to do with anything? She was supported by the TEA party, because she's a conservative.

I'm choosing not to continue this discussion, because it won't do any of us any good, or change anyone's mind.
One of two things I gather from this thread. Scoundrel either voted for Obama or he went third party, I'll leave it at that.

What is that popular saying about assumptions, again?
I said I wasn't interested in continuing the discussion. So leave me out of it. I'd do the same for you.

Well, yeah. 'Specially for an older model. What be your point?
Pretty and functional are two different things. Took me four marriages 'fore I got that balance right.
