Thomas has seen the guy all last week while walking the dogs before 5:30 am andI didn't think anything of it until i saw him out of his car yesterday in my yard (the side next to PAM) with a flashlight. He was at Ed and Donna's this morning -
I may be gettin' up early tomorrow morning to check these guys out.

Read something the other day about a rash of idiots in some part of the country blowing up mailboxes w/ household chemicals. Hopefully not your part. People have been getting minor burns and minor shrapnel. Be careful!

If they are up to "no-good" they don't appear very stealthy about it driving around with loud mufflers.....but they wouldn't be the 1st stupid bad guys.

Happens around here quite a bit and there has been the the occasional alarm going off. Particularly so the night before or morning of trash pickup. Some - maybe not all - are trash divers.
We're relatively close to an expressway on-off which seems to be a part of B&E MOs.
I have GSDs - two of them - and a Kahr, HK, Beretta, and Remington.

I'm constantly amazed at how many people put the boxes on the curb telling others (even the Bad Guys) that they just bought a new Big screen TV,computer, sound system ETC. I cut them up turn them inside out or take them to one of the shopping center dumpsters, that or the wife takes them to work.

That's hysterical. We do the same thing. You can't put an empty cereal box out on bulk trash day at our place that it doesn't get rifled thru. We've had old beat up _fill in the blank_ taken from the end of our driveway before the trash truck arrives the next morning. We now tear off all labels w/ tracking information (they get shredded), break down the boxes, black trash bag them, put them out first thing in the AM when we hear the truck coming. Some weeks I feel like a whack-job-paranoid nut. Then I see a neighbors stuff spread out where someone has picked thru it, or something I saw the night before that they threw out is now missing, and I feel OK again.
People are crazy!

When I went home to Miami (only call it home because my mom still lives there) to clean out the house after my dad died, I was amazed at the number of people that stopped and just about took everything that we threw away. Even some really funky (orange shag) carpet that had been installed over 40 years ago. This stuff was so bad, you could tear it with little or no effort.
After everyone went through the stuff, probably had less than 1/4 of what was thrown away.

I have an old guy that lives a couple doors away that is a hoarder. I had two old plastic molded chairs that were pretty beat up and dried out from the sun.
One evening I threw them out in the trash. Next morning there they were in my neighbors back yard . They've been sitting in the same spot getting snowed and rained on and sun beaten for two years and have never move and inch. Nor have they been sat on. Now I have to wait till the trash truck is practially in front of my home before I toss anything that might be of any value or I'm still going to be looking at it for years to come.:(

Here in the Green/Red/Red State of CA they force 3 96gal cans on you and to avoid fines you must separate garbage, recyclables and trimmings in them. Problem is the recyclables get dug through by folks who do that for a living collecting anything they can make a penny on. You might think what the heck, but they aren't neat about it at all and a 96gal can turned over to spill out it's contents is not pretty.
BTW: Green (air, water, recycle) / Red (progressive communist fascist etc) / Red (drowning in debt). Was pretty good about 50 years ago but downhill ever since.

Your best course of action is to notify the police of a suspicious vehicle in the neighborhood and let them check them out. They get paid to get shot at. You don't. Just sayin.

Try to have some fun with it though. When you call be professional.
Maybe something like this.
911- 911, what is your emergency.
You- Ummm aa my name is Zimmerman and there's a couple strange vehicles in the neighborhood the last couple weeks. They are up to no good.
911- Can you describe the vehicles?
You- Huh? I can't hear too good they got really loud exhaust.
911- Are they wearing Hoodies and carrying candy from the convenience store.
You- Yup those are the ones, shall I pursue?
911- Are you armed sir?
You- Oh yeah I got my trusty 25 Whistlepoop magnum.

Personally, I'm looking for a huge SONY box, in order to lure some folks in....

Sounds as if this may be an age old method of recycling. I guess that it proves that one man's trash is another's treasure.:)
