Interesting. I wish they would bring back a full sized and commander sized LDA version.

Wow! With an ultra-sized, stainless steel IonBond finished slide, anodized aluminum frame, and full sized, bobtailed grip . . . that Executive Agent looks like a real winner!
In my world, bobtailed .45's rock and the IonBond finish should eliminate a major weak spot in many past Para Ordnance pistols . . . fragile finishes.
I need another 1911 like a hole in the head, but I would like to own one of these. :)

Speaking of Para. It seems on all three forums I belong to, there are many threads devoted to the pros and cons of virtually every model of every well know manufacturer. But for some reason no one ever discusses Para. What experiences have you all had ??

I have 3, the double stack full size when they first came out, a CCW the officer size in stainless and the Limited Edition 7-45 full size single stack. My chief carries the CCO? as his duty gun.
All LDA models. I never had issues with any of them. All shooters, plenty accurate.
I think Para suffers from some poor management or something. They got to where you couldn't get a blued or a stainless gun. Had green and weird stuff.
I even inquired when some of the guys here were shopping and they had no plans to come out with a basic stainless LDA.
One guy here had one of the green ones. We called it the green machine. But the green must have been Rustoleum or Krylon at best. In no time it looked 30 years old and like he drug it behind his car.
I inquired of Para about refinish and they recommended aftermarket finishes as their finish wouldn't hold up. To me that's a clue that something needs to improve.
I love the LDA trigger system although I think it's a little delicate, but good for anyone who isn't a bull in a china closet when it comes to cleaning etc.
I don't think it would make a good police gun for that reason. Using it and all the other attributes it would be perfect, but when they take it apart for cleaning I think I'd see a lot of them needing fixing.

Para also shot themselves in the foot by intorducing 10 or so new models each year and only producing those that were ordered in large enough numbers. What they should have done is concentrate or their core models and produce all of them.
I have a full sized SA and the Officers sized 7.45 LDA.
If they ever make the Executive Agent in LDA I will be the first to buy. ION Bond is a much better finish than they have had but there are much better finishes.

Go here (my favorite 1911 related forum) http://forum.m1911.org/forums.php
There's subforums dedicated to the different manufacturers including Para.

I like this one as well, but it should have come standard with a low profile ambi-safety (an LDA version would be cool as well)

not even suremakes a lda anymore. I now they dropped the lda 9mm. the trgger was super, gun was accurate. the finish in OD green was the worst of any finish I ever seen. It flaked badly and ater 200 ronds it looked 5 years old. Ihad feed issue and went through 3 slide stop lever before things started to look up. I peddled it. I was not in love with the 1911 style guns,. I often wonder why todd Jarrett left them to..:amflag:

He left them to form his own name brand business probably making even more money than before.

If you like LDA, there's the Colt DAO 1911s. I have no idea how they compare.

I did not know that, I bet theirs works to.. Just sayin Probably not in 9mm though and they would have to chase me down the street to buy a 45.

I don't know about that one, never seen it but the Colt Double Eagle was a dismal failure. Not reliable. Instant collector item as no one wanted them.

Agreed the Double Eagle was a MONSTROUS POS. I had access to one and hated it. Colt and double action anything is a bad idea. They are getting into something they have no clue about.

I like them. I have a single stack, officer's sized LDA. I've been thinking of picking up one of the stainless 14.45s in LDA used when the craziness wears off. I love the LDA trigger and could reload less often at the range. :)

He most certainly has a thing for that green and black thing, nearly a fetish I'd say that's for sure. But that's ok, they look gosh darn nice.

No.....actually it was an experiment that went bad. Thought I would try a new color :( It was a failed experiment and that one got shunned by the others and had to be sold.:o
Kinda like the Rhino experiment.........
