I'm in the process of cleaning and lubing my new CM9 before I take her to the range and was watching a video on how to disassemble a Kahr. The gun in the video does not have the same guide rod/recoil spring assembly as my CM9, and when I try to remove the recoil spring form the guide rod it will not budge.
I don't want to force it and ruin my spring. This should be able to come off, right? Is it normal for the spring to be this hard to slide off?

It's normally tight. If you give it a slight twist in the opposite way that it is coiled it's a little easier to get it off. It doesn't really need to come off for normal routine maintenance.

Maybe after I put 200 rounds through her, it will loosen up and come off next time.
