What I'd been after was a Taurus PT-145. Problem was (and still is), nobody around my area had 'em and could not say when more would be coming in. So I'd seen this CW45 last week when checking one more time on the Taurus.
I thought about it, went back to see it, and left the store with it.
I won't be able to shoot it until tomorrow, but I've done the brake cleaner blowout of the striker and other parts, lubed it according to the guide here (great info), and have loaded up 100 rounds of 230 FMJ, 50 230 RNL, and have several 200 LSWC I may feed it just to see what it does with them.
I do like the feel, trigger, and sights on this CW45 much better than the Taurus. We'll see how it goes.
Thanks,
Rick

Welcome to the forum. The CW45 is a good pistol and recoil is not too bad for a polymer .45. Make sure to keep it lubed up good and give it the 200 rounds for breakin. Some dont require the whole 200 rounds but mine did. If you have any questions just come on back and we'll do whatever we can to help out.
After the first range trip and a good cleaning it is really smooth too.

Many thanks. These will all be handloads so I'll be patient with it, though my 1911 clone digests them without a hitch.
A great resource, this forum-- glad to have found it!

I don't know if you've seen this already, but here are some links and info to consider. Please watch the take down video before attempting re-assembly... there ARE "tricky" peculiarities with Kahrs.
Welcome to the Kahrtalk forum supported by Kahr Arms.
Here are a few essential links and things to do BEFORE you take your new pistol to the range, and ESPECIALLY BEFORE taking it apart and trying to re-assemble it! The Kahr is a different design… 6-7 unique patents cover the Kahrs. I’m not trying to imply that you don’t know anything about guns, but many don’t know anything about the Kahrs and some of the things you can do to damage or cause malfunctions of your new, or new-to-you Kahr pistol.
First, if you don’t have a manual, yet, or one didn’t come with your pistol, you can download the pdf file here:
http://www.kahr.com/PDF/kahrmanual.pdf
Impatient? Watch one of these videos FIRST! These videos can point out possible problem areas and emphasize correct procedures!

K series:

There are many links on fixing problems listed in several places… under the New Member or Kahr Tech sub-forums.
A very handy one is the Kahr Lube Diagram:

Many of your questions can be answered in these areas and you can learn how your Kahr works and not damage it with improper handling.
Frequently asked questions: http://www.kahr.com/faq.asp?
There are many helpful members here most of the time who might be able to help you, but as anywhere, there are many opinions and not all are correct. Be mindful of this before doing anything drastic to modify your pistol!

The Taurus is a nice gun, I have the PT145 Millenium Pro and have put close to 1000 trouble free rounds through it since I bought it. I just picked up a CW45 last week. I can tell you that the CW45 is MUCH more accurate and smoother than that Taurus. There's nothing wrong with the Taurus, but mine is now getting sold. It isnt as accurate as I like for hole punching at the range and it is a fair amount bulkier and thicker than I like for carrying. So if I dont shoot it because it's not as accurate as I like and I dont carry it because it's bigger than I like, Id rather find it a new owner who will enjoy it rather than have it collecting dust here :) In its defense, it is a double stack with 4 more rounds available than the Kahr, but I find the Kahr to be the perfect balance between my pocket 9's and the bigger 45's. You made a good choice!

A CW45 is my primary CCW. Shoot it like you stole it. They love to be shot a lot.

I recently purchased the CW45 after researching Kahr and other brands. The purchase price new was a pleasant surprise as has been the pistol itself. I have completed the initial 200 round break in and have found the pistol to be very accurate and easy to shoot. The aggressive stippling on the grip with definitely get your attention after about 50 rounds, but since this is a self defense and CCH it's not an issue. This will be one of my two CCH weapons of choice from this point on.

When I saw and felt the nibs on my new PM45:eek:, I knew that I had to do something before shooting it. I made a bike tube grip cover... first attempt wound up on the PM9 then I put them on all polymer Kahrs... even my P380's... just a nice feel and doesn't make the grip much larger. I used the 1.75" size and it works for all of my Kahrs.
There's talcum powder inside the tubes so cut them over the sink and at least wash the piece you cut before using it. I found that the tubes looked and felt better with the inside out.

I've order the Talon Rubberized grips for the CW45. I have them on a couple of other pistols and they are very good and do not increase the thickness of the grips much while increasing the grip area substantially. They sell for $14.99.

This is what the bicycle inner tube grip looks like on a CW40. Simple but very effective.

Thanks all, I really do like this pistol. I've loaded up 100 rounds off 200 gr XTPs to see what that does to the point of impact but have not been able to get back out to the range. The bike innertube feels good on this, though I may make another one and cut it about 1/8" longer.
