Faced with months of surging demand,
Wal-Mart is rationing sales of ammunition.
The nation's largest retailer is limiting ammunition sales at its stores across the country
to three boxes per customer, per day.

Went to my local Walmart last night to see if anything was in stock and I saw the 3 box limit sign.....Funny thing was they didn't have anything but some .17, several boxes of 12 gauge birdshot and 9 boxes of .270 winchester....HMMMMM might be a good time to pick up that Ruger American .270 rifle I've been thinking about....

Folks gotta be able to shoot what they just bought. I know a number of folks, new gun owners, that went out in the fury to get something...now they can't shoot it. It's actually a little funny and a little not, but gotta roll w/ it and figure out the next move I guess. I'm pretty well stocked, but no question if I run across anything remotely reasonably priced ammo-wise, I'm buying it.

That pic is not at Wal-mart. No Wal-mart has that much ammo in one store at one time.

We have been visiting relatives in Northern Michigan and have been visiting any and all gun stores and pawn shops. No ammo. But we were able to buy 1,000 small pistol primers, and 1,000 Large pistol primers (but not at the same place).

Walmart, as are all dealers, cannot keep up with current demand. Demand exceeds supply, everywhere. Some Walmart stores reported that LGS were checking Walmart stock daily and buying everything they could when it was available, and reselling it with a huge mark-up.

Limiting purchases to 3 boxes will discourage local gun shops from pirating from WM.

I've checked my WM occasionally, but haven't seen anything but rifle ammo and shotgun shells in several weeks.

There isn't a store within 50 miles of my location that isn't rationing ammunition if they even have ammunition to ration.

Agreed muggsy. Here in my area, including the 5 LGS's the public has access to are rationing. Until the panic stops and shelves are resupplied it is the way it is.

small ass gun shop directly across the street from our local and prior to theire 3 boxc limit, the owner and then his wife was coming over every day at 7 a.m to see what ammo wason the shelf and they would buy about all of it and then before closing they would do the same thing. Now with the 3 boxc limit and one time only a day purchase, they have basicaly stopped even coming over for a lowly 3 box limit..:amflag:

today i went into a diff wally's & walked out with 5 boxes of federal .40, so i guess it's all in where you go or who sells it to you?

Things might be looking up for us. My local Wally World had about 15 boxes of 9mm and I'm guesstimating 30 boxes of Federal .223 on the shelf. I was the first of 4 guys at the counter trying to get ammo, though. Also, Midway just shipped out my backordered Glock 19 mag that had an estimate of end of April for it's ship date.

I rushed to the local gun shop Thursday night to buy a new pistol before they went to a gun show this weekend, they had ammo on shelf but I'm hoping they still have some next week when I pick it up.

They had .380 and .40 at good prices. I say ARs and AKs. Their wall of ammo was full. It was awesome!

I think I might faint if I saw such a sight. only 44 mag and 45 colt on the shelf at one local place here. The gun shop had ammo, I hope they still do tomorrow.

sounds like were from the same area code, cuz there's ALOT of that left on the racks around here too. :mad:
