Hey all,

new to the forum and the Kahr. My apologies if this is asked elsewhere, I did look all over and so far haven't seen this.

I have about 300-400 rounds through my new CW40. At least twice now I have had a situation where the ammo feeds just fine....but for some reason....with a cartridge seemingly seated just fine in the chamber....there is less tension on the trigger....and the weapon won't fire.

Any ideas what's up?

Thanks,

SK

Are you letting the trigger out far enough to reset it? Just a thought. I see you've shot a few hundred rounds but it could happen if you are used to shooting something other than a Kahr, [Glock, 1911, etc.]

it could be a possability of a out of spec rund that is not letting the slide fully return to battery, even though it looks like it is.that will cause a dead triggeror what sharpetop stated to is a real possable.

I would think if there was a mechanical fault or part fault that it would duplicate itself many times in 400 rouds insteadof twice.

No doubt if u don't let the trigger reset ur gonna get a dead trigger but wit that many rounds out ofthe gun u should know what is going on to..

very hard to trouble shoot this when it only happens twice. It could be ammo,it could be trigger reset. Not that u should need one but I would certainly try a new recoil spring assembly to eliminate that possability..

Yes, I'm certain that I'm letting the trigger reset. When I have had those malfunctions, I've heard the click....just no "bang".

Gonna clean and lube and back to the range again tomorrow.

Thanks for the replies so far.

Is the slide forward with the pistol in full battery. I have had what you describe occur 3 times on my cw45 and a strong forward wrap of the slide resolved it, allowing the round to be fired.

Have you tried the Non-Chlorinated Brake Cleaner blasting out of the striker channel?? Or better yet... the slide strip down to see if there is crud or buildup in the striker channel?? That could cause you this kind of problem, too!

Any lube in the striker channel will accelerate buildup and slow down or stop the striker!
