View Full Version : Kahr Repair
I was told by kahr this morning that it would take a month to repair a gun that i sent back to them under warranty. I told them that there was no excuse for that kinda down time and i also told them if it takes you a month to repair a firearm then why don't you just replace the damn thing. Funny thing is they never offered to send me parts to fix it myself they asked me to send it in for repairs. I advised them that i would not be buying anymore guns that they may offer in the near future.
I had the gun for 2 weeks only and it was new. If you cant fix it replace it !!!

LOL.
Itch, I'm not excusing the down time, but you realize this is the busiest the firearms industry has EVER been....on top of the back log from them being at SHOT Show, trying fill/finish existing orders, more people buying guns means more people sending guns in, etc etc etc.
Also, I don't think you'll find many companies who will send you the "warranty part" and tell you to fix it yourself.... O.o If my truck gets a recall/warranty repair I don't expect them to hand me a box full of parts and say "go at it". And even if you claim to know everything there is about guns, if it's a warranty issue, they're gonna fix it themselves, not give someone the opportunity to break it further/void their warranty.
Their CS is good, give them time to fix it and be understanding right now. I know it is very frustrating to go without for a month, but I have my K9 and can't go shoot it because I can't find any 9mm ammo....

I know I always want to rush to help a customer who is telling me how I should run my business. I really go the extra mile for them. :)

I totally understand the frustration of a new purchase that $hits the bed and not having it remedied immediately.
What Justin said is spot on. Give them a chance. They're getting spanked right now. They'll make it right.

could more than likely be a vendor hold up to.
I wasin a bad motorycle wreck two+ years ago and my 30 day old Rolex Submariner was badly damaged. Insurence took care of it, but it took me 6 months to getit fixed at Rolex. I didn't like it but today a year and half plus later,I basically forgot all about it. Life is not a bowl of seedlesscheeries, sometimes a pitted cherry gets in there and fokks things up..
I guess my question is , vent to kahr, why bring it to this forum, we are not Kahr, and it wold look like ur saying to us, screw kahr don't buy their guns etc.
Justin I feel ur frustration with that K9, I would make u an offer of $100 sight unseen for that gun that can't go bang. It's doin u no good there, I have ammo, plenty of it. Just trying to help, as Ididn't have luck with that POS savage rifle u bought witht he fokked up stock:Amflag2:

They do send shipping labels, I know. Its never good for dealing with CS by being all out of shape with them ether . They had some down time do to the flooding up that way and thats puts them behind even more. Just because you were told repairs could take 4 weeks does not mean thats what it would have been ether. Just cover'n there butts so they have time to get to it. Sure does no good whin'n here.

When I sent my Taurus TCP back for repairs, the followup email said it would be 6 weeks. Exactly 2 weeks later I was signing for my repaired gun at my door. It is a well know business strategy known as managing customer expectations: tell 'em the worst case and then they are delighted when it doesn't take that long. And if it does take a month, so what? Be realistic.

I guess I could just unload both the ugly savage and the empty K9 (not truly empty...I bummed 8 rounds of HP off my dad to put in) for a wholesale, bulk price. The gun CAN go bang, I did get to put 100 rounds through it...just no more. It did run flawless for those, but it wasn't out of the break-in run yet, so it could be a lemon in the next 100. I'd hate to charge you too much for it's shadowy future, and the "non-savage savage"....they probably wouldn't even stand behind it since it doesn't match anything they make....I don't even know how low of a price would be fair...I'd hate to feel like I'm ripping off one of our founding members. Maybe we could just trade them for that watch you mentioned.....:amflag:

I'd go for it in a heart beat. I started to say New York minute but I'm done with New York.
I held a Rolex once. Was at a watch kiosk at the mall many years ago, guy starts right off, looking for a Rolex or a Timex, I think I ended up with a Casio.
Bought the wife an expensive watch for Christmas, couldn't get it to even run, she took it back and got credit since they didn't have another.
When I say expensive I mean around 250. Not a new car like them others Jocko has that I can't remember the name of. Kapek? Never even seen one of those in real life.
One of the detectives here has a Rolex, if I send you the Rolex can I have that bastardized Savage Jason? It's a real nice watch. I think it weighs bout 4 pounds. Actually I held two Rolexs then, forgot about that one.

Actually, I don't wear a watch....I'd rather have the guns, though I think some of them watches can get a bit pricey.....I'm already slated to have sold an AR and acquired a nice rifle, 2 handguns, and possibly a reloading press.....wonder what Jocko's watch could get me?

All that and more I'm sure. But lets set Jocko aside. That previously mentioned detective quite often leaves that Rolex on his desk when he wanders around the office detecting stuff and I could latch onto that puppy real easy and it would go just as far.
It might not have belonged to someone near as famous as Ol Jocko but she's worth a plenty towards gun stuff.
I can have my FFL info to ya in minutes.

Ok, I can see I am dealing and talking to two possable illegals who have no clue as to what ol jocko is talking about either. I like nice things, they seem to last longer but make mefeel good about myself. Guess thats why I ride Harleys.
U two guys need to stop crawling under those barb wire fences and thorugh all that sagebrush, and look up every once in awhile to see the world as it is,, and pay urback rent for sneaking over here, getin line and work like ol jocko has for many years and mabye bawanna u can step up from a casio to at least a timex or Navado and Justin, u could finally buy a gun that has some backgroud behind it and certainly some waranty. Just sayinj.
At this time I will with draw all my offers of kindness. and bawanna please, "lets not set ol jcko aside". hE has feelins know. I could sit in any bar with you and drink cocoa and u would never know I was a harley riding, Rolex wearing Porsche driving person. and I also raise horse to, not very long but I have raised alot of them. Just sayin

Anyone but me ever wonder what we'd do without Jocko? Once again he's saved an otherwise dreadful day at the sweatshop. I rarely smile, bad teeth but I just did.
I plan to look up more often, above the sage brush and focus on a Timex some day. It takes a lickin and keeps on tickin.
Never heard of a Navado? must be an indian watch but that would be fine to. Something to aspire too.

I have a Rolex that was given to me by some employer in the distant past. It's been packed away for years - just too big and clunky for my taste. Never had a Harley, but have owned many BMW's, Hondas, Suzukis, Yamahas, and Ducatis. Sold my Porsche to buy my first Corvette last year and haven't missed it.

I do want a Harley.....I might trade you my Savage for one of those....you'd be helping me out in two ways. Getting me on a bike AND taking that rifle off my hands...
...what was the original question?... LOL!

It's better for a company to under promise and over deliver that to over promise and under deliver. If you can't live without a gun for a few weeks then you don't own enough guns. If ya want I'll loan you one to tide you over. I can probably get one to you in three weeks. I have to check my inventory. :)

I have many firearms I don't need a loaner. Also i did not post it to run down the forum or anything like that. Am just letting other kahr owners know what is going on in case they run into the same thing as i have. That being said i am sure there are many many repairs but in my opinion one month is a little excessive. Maybe they will send me a free hat or something or maybe i will get it back gold plated hey there ain't nothing wrong with a little BLING ha ha

If your lucky you may even get your gun back. Stranger things have happened. I think that what most members were saying is that you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Patience is a virtue and all good things come to those who wait. Opinions are one thing and reality another. Give Kahr a chance. They want to get you gun back to you as much as you want to have it. When you do get it back shoot it like you stole it.

All firearms business's are slow now...I sent my Laselyte, off my Mini in 3 weeks ago for repair after talking to customer service. After checking tracking which showed they got it in 2 days, I was told it would take a MINIMUM of 3 weeks just to look at it and to relax that yes they will take care of it but they are very busy.
