What people are paying for ARs right now is just crazy, but check this auction out...

Considering the last bid before his was $2500 yup something is wrong. Then he upped his bid on top of that. Guessing maybe he was trying to bid $2500.01....

Somebody got excited and fat fingered that one - LOL!
It is crazy with the pricing though.
Lot's of people seem to be selling their AR/AK to cash in and trade up.
Especially if you happen to have more than one.
Lose the junk and get something you really want.
My excessive/compulsive HK buying seems to have paid off.
The AK/AR rush seems to have spilled over to the pistol market as well.
It appears that most local and internet sources have dried up.
My P2000SK 40 V2 and HK45C seem to be MIA most everywhere.
Even with my running on low bank accounts.
I'm feeling very good about my firearm purchases.
And I never spent a penny on interest.

A month or two ago, someone at my range said something that really made me stop and think. He said "When the SHTF, all you need is a working gun to be able to go out and take a better gun." So, if the "enemy" has a better gun...
I've never thought about it like that before. Free guns, ammo, night vision equipment, etc.

A few years ago the city made me go thru a CERT (Community Emergency Response Team). It's for like after a disaster, they group up, search for survivors, evaluate wounded, medical aid stations, all that.
They issued special vest, hard hats, gloves, flashlights, we had to put together a back pack with first aid supplies, water, extra clothing etc.
One day the evening assignment was to add something to the backpack that might be beneficial and share with the class.
I discussed it at home that night with family and all three of my kids said ammo.
So I put two boxes of Speer Gold Dot 45 in the back pack. The instructors, a sgt here and the engineer for the city were not terribly impressed.
I explained that in a disaster the ammo would work like an American Express card. Also handy on looters.

I'm an active CERT member myself.
With the prospect of possibly facing armed looters.
I asked the instructor about concealed carry as a CERT member.
He said technically you should not be armed.
But nobody is going to search you.
And some CERT members will carry anyway.

I sold my AR and bought a nice bolt action rifle, a Kahr K9, a Beretta PX4 Storm, and a Hornady reloading kit with dies.....

I post and get ignored, over and over lately. I think I'll just go away for awhile. :(

The problem now is prices are so inflated on AR's/AK's, so that when the market goes back down in a year your stuck with a gun that you can't recoup the money invested when you go to sell. If you keep it forever I guess none of this matters.

Crazy bid price was $250004 and $250005 if I remember right. Missed the decimal place.

WOW!!! Well, Walther are still not committing to continue importing the "Classic" PPQ with the paddle mag releases in the trigger guard (like mine :D). So they are still selling on gunbroker for $750-1500! If they say a final no, then no telling where the prices will go! I am kinda hoping they say no.

Kinda like 1 shot, 1 kill keep the booty and move on......find food and shelter that way too!
