I think I want to try making kydex goodies for me to use. Where do I get started? What thickness is appropriate for outside the belt, inside the belt, is there a general purpose thickness? Where do I get materials, what do I need? How do I do that voodoo? Got the picture yet? I figure I'd ask the folks around here that are smarter than I am. BTW to the holster maker that told me to lose the USMC black, I get it now, thanks.

I use this place, they have everything you need. Sell kydex in various thickness's. Have the grommets, just about anything you need. Sell it in 12x12 pieces and even have different colors.
All you need is a toaster oven, size depends on what you want to make, I've only done knife sheaths so a holster might need bigger.
Might also want to make a press for a holster, I kind of free hand my knife sheaths.
Someone here had the ideal workable temperature but I forgot already what it is. I just heat till it's like warm cheese, I think that's the description Greg told me too. If it cools to fast just reheat and go at it again till you get what you want.

There is a wealth of information on you tube on how to work with Kydex. So easy even Bawanna can do it. :)
