Do any of you guys know if anybody makes a METAL grip extension for the kahr mags. I've read a ton of reviews where the plastic pearce grip extension breaks after only the first mag. i ordered some anyway to see for myself since theyre only $15 shipped but id really rather not have to depend on a small plastic lip to keep my bullets in the mag. I havent been able to find any metal grip ext on google so i kinda dont think they make em (no clue why) but if any of you have seen them id appreciate a link.
thx in advance

Dunno where you read a ton of reviews about the Pierce breaking. I've had Pierce extensions on my CM9 mags for 2 years and have never had an issue. There's frankly not much there to break.

theres some on this forum, the other kahr forum, youtube, all over google. theres no shortage. now i understand that ppl w/ bad experience will be more likely to report them than good. but with the small lip that the end cap slides onto on the bottom of the mag it still worries me that only an 1/8 of plastic is keeping my bullets in place.
like i said before i ordered some am willing to give them a shot but you cant argue that a nice metal grip ext wouldnt be better and more reliable. for example the standard cm9 mags come with metal caps. why wouldnt kahr just use plastic if it was just as strong metal?? it would be cheaper??

They do make "plastic" base plates:

Any Kahr 9mm mag base will fit any Kahr model 9mm.
Why would you want to add a meat hook grip extension on a gun designed to be short for concealment?
If you're looking for support for you pinky, I would suggest you buy a CW9.

idk why you guys are arguing with me about nothing. i asked a very simple yes or no question and all ive got are ppl bashing my idea.
and to tilos a .25" ext isnt going to all of a sudden make the cm9 unconcealable. ppl conceal much bigger guns all the time. i will take more control over the tiny bit harder it would be to conceal another .25". and i didnt really have a choice as to which model i got. the cm9 was the only one any of my lgs had

This is the reason that Congress can't govern the country. There are too many combative people around with their own idea about things :Amflag2:

A .25"...you wish.
I guess we can wait until you get those pearce grip/mag base things and report back as to how great they really are or how it broke when you threw it against the wall.
What you have here is people views, people who have actually used them and have taken the time to post their own experiences, directly to YOU...not something they've read posted somewhere else.
Some challenge your assesment of the them breaking and/or the need on a small gun, again from experience...not something they're read on the internet.
Maybe just trying to save you some time and money that WE have already spent.
What kind of response did you expect, posting about how you've read on another kahr forum, they break and you want something made of metal.
Where did those people get their metal replacements?
Would you pay $50-$100 for a metal one?
I think not, because that is what it would cost.
Here's an idea, you could always just make your own metal base.
I posted some different Kahr bases as a choice, as you seemed convinced all Kahr made was metal bases and that plastic was too weak, but that offended you for some reason.
Chubby:
Then we get scenters/trolls like you comparing this thread to congress...get a life:crazy:

i really dont understand why your getting so upset. i never got offended i just asked for an answer to my original question and that i didnt want to argue about the quality of the pearce ext. but you seem intent on having a pissing match about nothing.
AS to this statement " What you have here is people views, people who have actually used them and have taken the time to post their own experiences, directly to YOU...not something they've read posted somewhere else." what exactly do you think the posts i read on THIS forum and other places were. Are they not people who have posted their own experiences as well or are you the only one who can post legit reviews of products??? im not trying to say that your wrong about the quality of the pearce ext ill find that out for myself tomorrow, i just dont understand why me thinking metal would be better than plastic makes you want to argue so much
i stated before that i understand that more ppl post bad experiences than good and that i had already ordered some of the pearce ext so obviously i took all those posts for what they are "a single persons experience" and not necessarily an accurate representation of the product overall.
and thank you to the couple of people who just said NO and answered a simple question for me instead of arguing about stupid sh!t. i got my answer and am done with this thread. so tilos if you feel like posting something back to argue some more just know i wont be reading it so dont waste your time. it wouldve saved alot of time for both of us if you wouldve just said no in the first place

This looks like a choice to me http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=328620759
but you came here asking a question then get pissed when given more info than you asked for  We can't help that you got the wrong size gun for you and now want to make it bigger without the added benefit of another round. On second thought you should stay away from any Kahr bigger than a CM/PM/MK because the mags come with plastic base plates. I guess it doesn't matter because you'll never read this anyway.

My thoughts exactly...I have a set on my XDm compact and have never had an issue.
