Democratic lawmakers proposed legislation Tuesday
that would require California gun owners to buy liability insurance to cover damages or injuries caused by their weapons.

Typical. They cannot get what the want, banishment, thru legislation so they want to make ownership as expensive as possible.

That could be a very expensive policy!!! In that case, it is not a matter of 'just in case something happens', it is a matter of 'do I have to use my policy this week or next week'. The insurance companies would go bankrupt!!!! :D
