I have shot about 350 rounds so far through my gun. I have a total of 3 six round mags for the gun. all the 6 round magazines have preformed flawlessly. I have read here the issues with the 7 round mags, and I am one of them. Every malfunction has been with the 7 round mag. Why would Kahr sell these with these issues? I wish they just would supply the gun with two 6 round mags until they get the issues resolved... I love this little gun though. It's a great little tack driver!
Take care,

sendiut back and get a 6 round and just forget about that one extra round crap. U got a ccw gun, keep it that way. Somehave no pro lmes witht he 7 round in the pm and cm series, Mine works OK but I never use it, If I can't doit in 7 rounds then I am probably dead anyhow. let alone trying to stick that extended mag in my pocket ove rthe flush fit one. Send it back, write kahr explain and ask for a RA# to just ex change it...

Kahr swapped out the extended mags for my P380, as well as for my PM9. No questions asked. I have had excellent customer service from Kahr, whenever I asked for help.

did the extended mag for the 380 not work good either. I have never read much about pro or con on the 380 mags..

did the extended mag for the 380 not work good either. I have never read much about pro or con on the 380 mags..

I didn't like the P380 extended mag for a number of reasons:

Yes, it was troublesome. With my pinky wrapped around the mag, it would sometimes release from the mag catch when I shot the pistol. It wasn't enough to drop the mag completely, but enough to cause a misfeed on the next round.
For me, the gun shoots entirely differently with the 6 and 7 round mags. With one, it's a 2-finger gun. With the 7 round mag, it's a 3-finger gun. I can shoot it fine with 2 fingers, but going back and forth caused problems.
The Kahr website product description for the P380 says the pistol comes with two 6 round mags. I was disappointed to receive an extended mag. I bought the P380 for deep concealment. It makes no sense to extend the grip with an extra-capacity magazine. I politely stated my case to customer service, and they sent me a new 6 round magazine, along with a call tag to return the extended mag. Great service.

Hey Night Crawler,
You are right, they should work but for some reason kahr does not address this problem. I have been working and looking at the problem. It's not easy to fix someones else screw up, but there is way around this you have to do alittle work to them.If you look me up in the cm/pm part of the forum I may be able to help you.I have done work on my 8 round that has helped alot. You should be able to run 7 round with no problem. There is quality issues it's a shame the gun it's self is a nice gun but if you can't feed it then the reputation goes down. You can post or drop me a PM and see if we can fix you up.I always have a 8 round in the winter time come warm weather I go to 6 round,That's just me,Ive heard so many saying things about the 7&8 round mags.Believe me it is a machine and needs alittle work, and it will work if you want it to.I like having the extra rounds myself.Take a look at inside a 8 round magazine this forum

I cannot make my 7 rounder malfunction... I put as much pressure as I possibly can on it, and it doesn't care. I dislike it because the floor plate/extension seems VERY weak.

"Send it back, write kahr explain and ask for a RA# to just ex change it..."
Good Luck with that. I wrote Kahr several weeks ago HOPING to do just that and have yet to hear from them. For the time being..SADLY...my 7 rd. mag is just a fancy way to carry 7 extra rounds I might need to LOAD INTO the 6 rd. mag that WORKS.

If you haven't heard anything back from them I'd send a follow-up e-mail just to insure the original correspondence didn't fall through the cracks. I sent an e-mail to them regarding a recoil spring assembly issue, got a response within a couple of hours and had the replacement spring assembly within a couple of days.

and yet we readof many here who have no issues with the 7 round mag,so it is a crap shoot, as to why, what is the casue in soe and not the cause in utters. If torquing the extended magazineis the issue for some then just get away from it, as if that is your grip etc, then stick with it. Just consider it a accessory that did not work right for YOU. Somehere don't like some of kahrs sights either. I would have much rather had anutter flush fit mag whenI bought my PM9 than the extenededone, I never liked it form the git go. It looked tome like sh!t and that origianal butt ugly half floor peace on the mag was atrocious. What very very few times I tried it, the mag did work, but I have no idea where it is now. It has been over 4+ years since I messed with it. To lazy to send it back to..My fault, not kahrs.

I'm trying once again...After failing to receive response to my first request for a return authorization, I sent a second request yesterday. I'm in no big hurry. My CM9 works just fine with the original 6rd. mag. I'd be happy with a simple exchange for another 6-rounder that WORKS.
We'll see what response this request one gets.

Have any of you guys who have had trouble with the seven round mag ever tried shooting the gun with your little finger off of the mag extension? You aren't supposed to apply pressure to the grip with the little finger of your strong hand.

Final Report...
I sent my malfunctioning 7rd. mag back to Kahr in Feb. I had never heard back from them. To be honest..I accepted that they are super busy these days, and wasn't in a big hurry so I didn't fret about it. Couple days ago, it occurred to me to drop Jay an email to see if they had received my mag, and what he might be able to do to resolve my problem. Got a same-day response from Jay that he would look into it. Next day, got an email from him that a 6 rd. replacement (which was my request after all the issues with the 7 rd. version) would go out Fed-Ex, overnight. Next day...my new 6 rd. mag arrived, as promised.
AWESOME. I'm very pleased with Kahr's response to my problem. I don't require every interaction with a company to be perfect. Rather, I measure a company by how they respond when things don't go right. I don't know what the delay was from Feb. to now...and frankly don't care. When I brought it to Jay's attention, his response was totally satisfactory, and immediate.
