Im a new PM9 owner. I've tried looking through the forums and didn't find anything. Has anyone found a way to make the extended mag on the PM9 not look so awkward and cheap? Such a bad look for a nice gun.

While this may not be gorgeous, it looks and feels better than the stock extension. Easy to install. All parts plus Allen wrench included.

Congrats on your new PM9! Enjoy it and Stay Safe!

I agree with your observation. Kahr does a poor job integrating extended mags into their gun designs. Compare these with the M&P series, XDM, and others, and you'll see what I mean.

My solution has been to use flush magazines, only. My reasons for doing this have more to do with grip-length consistency, concealability, and shooting performance, than visual appeal. A side benefit, though, is the gun doesn't look "so awkward and cheap" with the standard magazine.

You can find numerous threads on this site showing various mag adaptations that have been tried to mitigate your concern. I haven't seen any that I would use. YMMV.

Thanks guys. Those options are better than the factory look.

I did come across one pic on here where someone machined a grip extension that looked pretty cool but was beyond my expertise.

I also have a sig sauer and the extended mag on that just looks so much nicer.

If anyone else has done something different I would love to see it.

People have said things about failure to feeds with the extended mag as well. One thing I've noticed. If i take both of the magazines out of the gun, if i have any round in my 6rd mag, and push on the bag of it slightly, the mag will eject the whole round before I even push the round halfway out of the magazine. With the 7rd mag, the back of the round gets hung up on the end of the magazine on its way out and hangs there. Anyone else know what i'm talking about?

Dang! You buy the most compact pistol and then add protuberances like finger grips and longer magazines... you could'a bought a CW or P-model with more grip and capacity!

I don't like the plastic bases and switched to metal... then blackened metal ones... KITS offered by Kahr. Below are my P9 and PM9, then the Mag-na-ported P40 and PM9 so fitted. The P40 has become my EDC and it's a bit more concealable with the metal bases. I had to add the 3/32" by 3/4" inside diameter O-ring to stop pinching on the P40:eek: and just in case on the P9.

I DO, however, carry the largest mag for each caliber in a Kydex holder for a spare reload. If I NEED more bullets, I want the largest mag!

I use the longer mags for spare carry and at the range. I want the shortest in the pistol for concealment!

If you covered that extension with grip tape it would look even better.
