Take a look at this video and the Kahr PM9 7 rd magazines. I tried what he demonstrated on mine, and it did the exact same thing every time. Food for thought.
If this has been posted before, I apologize.

Kahr's manual clearly states that not using the slide release will cause it to not chamber correctly.

This is true, and I never do, but I was unsure why. Now I know. Naturally, the video would only apply to anyone carrying un-chambered. As for the 2d mag reload, the slide is already locked back. I learned something new today. That's a good thing ;)

There was a big discussion about this issue a few months back, this video was used as possible solution the user problems. Best thing to do is follow what the manuals indicates.

He might have had the "un-beveled stripper" problem, too. That was one thing I checked for on the new P380. I had a new problem -- the front Night Sight was D.O.A. and the rear had machine scratches... where it was beaten on with a marring tool?

Strange. I guess I am lucky or got a "good one." I have never had any of these issues with the mags. I have my 7 rd magazine right here in my hand with 7 rds of fed hydra shok--no problems. The top 7th round is tight and secure. I carry this spare in my back pocket all day every day with no problems and no rounds have ever fallen out or even worked its way loose--same goes for the 6 rd mag. Mine is a June '09 PM9--IB07xx. I can push the top round down but I have to apply more force and pressure than the force needed to pull the trigger.
I always sling shot the first round and always keep one in the pipe.
The video author is a smart guy....I learned some shiny new stuff this morning :)
Anyway, my P9 does this(angle down the first round of a full mag), though I haven't dug into, I've taken to loading a new mag with the slide open and the thought has crossed my mind that if I ever have to reload in a combat situation, I'd have to use caution, making sure the top round does not get bumped down....

agree with you. Kahrs are tight guns, small guns and if your a good slide racked, then it is a no brainer. But if you ride that slide any at all, you gonna get FTF and that is not the guns fault.
I can hand rack my PM9 but I sure in hell would not want to have to rely on it 100% if in a dire situation. No doubt one should practice the tap, rack and bang thing with any semi, just because misfires can happen and then you do need to hand rack. But with my 3 kahrs hand racking is not an easy thing for me at least to do perfectly.
Probably something I should practice alot more of to,but I don't and probably won't either..

Kahr's manual does state that one should chamber a round by depressing the slide stop, but all of the Kahr pistols I have owned (9) eventually were able to chamber a round by using the ole sling shot method. Usually a few hundred rounds after the recommended 200rd break-in period. I would imagine it has something to do with the spring in the recoil assembly getting some use.

No doubt the round will chamber, but if you rack the slide after inserting a magazine with the slide closed on either the 6 or 7 round magazine, you can feel the bit of drag from the round chambering. If you then eject the first round, it feels very smooth for the remainder of the rounds. I don't think it's the spring that is the issue. I think the maker of the video is correct. It's the position of the first round to feed.

Why the heck do you say that? Is it so inconceivable that someone can't load up at home and carry chambered like I do EVERY day?
BTW, I can slingshot the first round just fine with my PM9... I'm not wearing out the slide lock notch in my slide, but you guys can go ahead and do it to your slides...

Because the guy in the video says HE carries un-chambered!

So, just because video guy does it, that means the video ONLY applies to people carrying unchambered, as you so "deftly" pointed out? Carrying unchambered? Fine...have at it, but... :der:
