I joined the forum forum based upon two reasons....I just purchased a Kahr PM40 that I expect to become my CCW firearm when Illinois finally joins the rest of the US with a CCW law. Second....my real last name is Zoot.....which really made me laugh when I discovered the AZSA website....I always wanted a reason to purchase a Tommy Gun. I may be new here but not new to shooting sports...have been a serious hobby gunsmith for thirty years...and an FFL holder...just in the process of being vetted for SOT 2, Type 71. The occupants of my gun safe include a pair of FN SCAR 17s, a PSA M4, Savage 111 .338 Lapua Mag bolt gun, Ruger 10/22, Benelli Super Nova 12 gauge tactical shotgun, Sig P229 Platinum Elite 9MM, and an FN FNX 45 in FDE
Looking forward to participating in yet another forum.

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll fit right in and learn the Kahr "eccentricities" and how to cope with any problems. The Kahrs are different and I've thrown together some links and info that could help learn about them.
One of our newest members recently had a common user-caused malfunction that had been requiring that the pistol be sent back to the factory! He tried putting an empty magazine in it and was able to get his slide lock pin out. I guess no one else had tried that before... thinking outside the box!
Anyhow here's my "boiler plate" info:
Welcome to the Kahrtalk forum supported by Kahr Arms.
Here are a few essential links and things to do BEFORE you take your new pistol to the range, and ESPECIALLY BEFORE taking it apart and trying to re-assemble it! The Kahr is a different design… 6-7 unique patents cover the Kahrs. I’m not trying to imply that you don’t know anything about guns, but many don’t know anything about the Kahrs and some of the things you can do to damage or cause malfunctions of your new, or new-to-you Kahr pistol.
First, if you don’t have a manual, yet, or one didn’t come with your pistol, you can download the pdf file here:
http://www.kahr.com/PDF/kahrmanual.pdf
Impatient? Watch one of these videos FIRST! These videos can point out possible problem areas and emphasize correct procedures!
Take down and re-assembly videos:

There are many links on fixing problems listed in several places… under the New Member or Kahr Tech sub-forums.
A very handy one is the Kahr Lube Diagram:

Many of your questions can be answered in these areas and you can learn how your Kahr works and not damage it with improper handling.
Frequently asked questions: http://www.kahr.com/faq.asp?
There are many helpful members here most of the time who might be able to help you, but as anywhere, there are many opinions and not all are correct. Be mindful of this before doing anything drastic to modify your pistol!
