View Full Version : PA/FL ccw
The PA AG has issued a press release that states the FL non-resident CCP is no longer honored in PA.
If your a PA resident with a FL non-resident CCP it will no be honored after 6.08.13.
The standard FL resident permit is still GTG. Reciprocity agreement still in effect.

She's gonna pull one too many unilateral moves and will lose her power to do so as AG.
The General Assembly will revoke the law that allows her that latitude.
I solved my Virginia problem by getting a non resident Pennsylvania permit based on my already PA honored Colorado license. Ain't all this convoluted crap fun?

I believe there are several states (Texas included now, I believe) that no longer recognize non-resident permits of residents within that state. Also, again just speculation based on what I've heard and read, there is also a movement to eliminate non-resident permits/license unless the applicant is licensed in their own state.
In Texas (for CHL license), a large part of the "training" is state specific laws/rules ... for a good reason. You just don't get the proper training from "out of state" (cheaper?) license.
As I read it, if you are a Pa only resident and only have a Florida permit, that will not be honored. You must have a Pa permit if you are a full time Pa only resident. Seems reasonable. If you can't get one in your home state, you probably shouldn't be able to get one elsewhere.
Colorado also won't recognize non-resident permit from elsewhere for residents. Been that way since 2003 and I have no problem with that for reasons noted above. PA will only issue non-resident permits to home state resident permit holders.

It's all infringement. Permits, taxes, fees, cost and tax on ammo. It's all infringement.
CCW, we don't need no stinking CCW.
A piece of paper, what's that?
Knew that was coming from somewhere/someone.
I used to agree....don't any longer. Like it or not today is today, not mid last century much as we'd prefer it to be, and it needs to be dealt with.

I agree.
Food for thought, why should a NJ resident who can NOT get a NJ CCP get a FL non-resident permit and use it in PA?
The NJ resident doesn't live in either state and neither state has reciprocity because NJ is not a shall issue state and does not issue to normal citizens anyway and will not recognize PA permits.
While I don't agree with the PA AG, I can see where she's coming from.
If a PA resident can't get a PA resident CCP, why should they be allowed to use a FL CCP?

Exactly.
The laws are not going to change in our favor, they will get worse, get used to it and be glad that some of us have what we do.
Don't like it in NJ or PA? Move to another state that offers what you want. in regard to CCW.
