There are too many political hacks like that in the upper hierarchy of the police departments. They want things to be easy for their officers, though any new laws and enforcement only makes their job harder because the criminals prosper where their victims are disarmed or encumbered against defensive/protective use of firearms!

What a sh!# for brains idiot. There's no reason for firearms to be used defensively!?? And his officers don't carry them for the defense of themselves and their "brethren"!!??

When you need help in seconds, the police are ONLY minutes away, but they'll get there in time to paint the chalk outline and put up yellow police ribbons to mark off the crime scene. They might even notify your next of kin! How nice!

The a$$hole is the epitome of the type that will be sending his bully boys to break down your door and confiscate your weapons that you sought to "cling to" for your OWN protection... yes, self defense... the NUMBER ONE Human RIGHT!

Fortunately most officers of departments who have chiefs like that have no hesitation in ignoring orders today and would in al liklehood do so in the future. Areshats like that dont' really "run" their departments, they are primarily talking figure heads.
