Does anyone have load data for 115gr 9mm bayou bullets?

We have the following powders;
hodgdon tite group
imr Hi SKOR 700X
Clays (just clay not the universal)
Clays universal
Bullseye (red label)
Winchester 231
Alliant poswr 2400

Wow, we have more powder than I thought!

I would load them the same as any other hard cast boolit. That's how I'm loading the .45 acp and .38/.357 Bayou Bullets.... by the book(s).

Sounds good. Since we are still new to reloading (it has gone well thus far) I was just making sure.
Soon we will reload the 45's Especially since I recently bought a XDs 45 for $438.00 out the door.

Thanks, mr surveyor

In the few hundred BB's I've loaded and shot so far, I would compare the cleaness (handling, loading, shooting, and gun clean-up) to be no different than using plated bullets. Actually, I like loading the BB's more than the limited experience I had with plated (Berry's) bullets.

I'm looking forward to hearing of your experience with the Bayou Bullets in 9mm.

you actually got some 9mm Bayou Bullets? If so, I guess Mr. Donnie is finally catching up on production.

I just headed over to his shop. Its a 30 minute drive. Great guy. Got some 124's as well, but haven't settled on a recipe. Probably won't get to shoot until Friday

That's cool. Some day I'm gonna make that road trip myself, but being in NE TX about 60 miles West of Shreveport, I'd imagine it's a bit more than a thirty minute drive.

I've now got his 138 gr wc's for .38 spl, 158 gr lswc's for .357 mag, 240 gr lswc's for .44 mag and 230 gr lrn's for .45 acp ... and loving each and every one of them.

Is Mr. Donnie about to get caught up production wise?

No idea if he's caught up. Just know that if you show up at the shop he'll sell you whatever you came for and give you a little tour (very interesting stuff). His site still says he's got a big backlog.

Any of you have any recipes for 231 with a 124 gr lrn? I don't have one I'd be guessing maybe 3.8-4.2 gr

I'll be using a Kahr PM9 with the bullets when I go to test.

I can't help you with the 9mm but I know there's folks here that do load a lot of 9's.

I've used the 3.8 to 4.2 grains of HP-38 (same powder as W-231) with the 124 grain LRNs. The 3.8/3.9 grain seem to be just a tad more accurate. Your mileage will probably vary!
If you go to the Hodgens reloading data site, you'll find a bunch of reloading recipes. :59:

Well I had already checked the hodgdon's. It didn't have any w231/hp38 in 124 gr, however, turns out the 1999 Winchester load data states 3.3-4 gr w231 for 124 gr lrn

I just checked my Lee 2nd Edition for Win 231 and he shows (for 124 gr lead) Start load at 3.3 gr (910 fps) and max at 4.0 (1036 fps) with pressure of 32900 psi. In nearly every bullet weight/style listed in the Lee manual, the Win 231 was at or near the bottom of the charts for recommended/tested powders.

That's an interesting note. Which powders are taking top prize for them?

Can these be used out of a polygonal barrel?

Use the 125 grain lead load listed.

Hate to give you this answer but some say yes and some say no. You can always test run some and see if you are getting any heavy leading.

Bayou Bullets site states "works well in polygonal rifled barrels" on the main page.

Sure thing. I loaded up 15 at 4.3 gr, 15 at 4.5 gr and 15 at 4.7 gr. No chrony just yet (I'm new to reloading too) so I can't measure velocity, but can definitely give them the good ol' accuracy test of 3 5-shot groups

Not sure what grain bullet you loaded nor what powder but..............the previous discussions were with 124 grain bullets and W231 powder.

Hope that you are meaning 3.3, 3.5 & 3.7 grains of W231 since the load data you previously stated was 3.3 to 4 grains.

Called Mr. Donnie and he said he could have 2k 115 gr 9mm out to me in a couple of weeks. They arrived last week, haven't tried any yet though.
