Bought a K40 in 1998 when no one new their name. Think I paid about $400 for it.

As you all know, rubber grips suck for concealed carry. The catalog showed exotic wood grips for the k40. Being somewhat familiar with wood, I called and inquired as to which exotic woods were available.."Pine". :confused: No I replied, the exotic woods, which are they? "Pine is all we have." So now I have exotic pinewood grips...:D

Never heard of them even selling pine. Usually it's Pau Faro. Course, maybe that's an exotic name for pine?

What's the first letters of your serial number. I might be able to help some. My K40 is early as well. I wear a grass skirt and a crown of thorns to add exotic flair to the making process.
